The year is playing out like I thought it would after watching them get beat by UCLA and seeing the offense play the first 3 or 4 games. They beat the one team I thought they would; now they have a chance to beat Ky simply because they have had so many injuries. But Vandy will beat them. The Vols do not deserve to go to a bowl game anyway. Very sad indeed.

This team will not get squat the rest of the year. I have never seen any Tennessee team look so inept on offense. Never -- I will admit the one loss they had to Chattanooga was probably the lowest point in UT history, but we may see this whole year eclipse that by the time the season ends.
They will lose every SEC game they play this year with the exception of POSSIBLY Mississippi State. Vanderbilt is head-over-heels better than the Vols right now even with their 1st-string quarterback hurt.

You got it right -- this is the most fundamentally unsound team I have seen at Tennessee since I have been watching them --- that extends back to the early 50s.
If I hear anyone say we can blame it on a new offensive coordinator my reply would be look at Paul Johnson and what he has done at GT. He had Navy leading the nation in rushing; he will do the same at GT. There is an entirely new coaching staff at GT, so what is the excuse here at UT????????????

I said after the UCLA game this would be a VELLLLYY BAD year; these last two weeks have not changed my mind. This is not a good team at all; so much for the most experienced offensive line in the SEC. Frankly the rest of the SEC has bypassed Fulmer; his offensive coordinator is not panning out; his QB is not working out; his defense can not stop Tebow; on and on, ad infinitum (or is it ad nausuem???).
Bring on the basketball season. Quickly. Very quickly.....

Others have pointed this out:
UCLA beat UT; one week later they lose 59-0 to BYU.
I know BYU is the better team, but...people supposedly in the know say the Vols have mucho more talent than well, just about everyone???????????????
So what does that say about:
1) The Vols' chances of winning very many games this year?
2) The ability of the coaching staff to prepare the team for the season opener?

0-3 by the middle of October??? Almost a sure thing......now then there is a total of 8 SEC games on the schedule this year -- right now I can only see one win (and based on the UCLA calamity I am not even sure we can beat Mississippi State!! Same deal of thinking we got a sure thing could rear up and bite 'em in the arse (again).)
Who else on the schedule do we have a chance of beating:
Flawrida????
Gawja???
Auw-burn????
Ala-damn-bama???
USC of the SEC????
Hell --- even Vandypandy and Kin-tuck-ie scare me now against this team!!!!!!!!!!!!
Folks, 1998 is ancient history now. Even last year's SEC East title is ancient history (well, at least it is history!!!). The UCLA debacle is so bad for what reason??? Because we are led to believe, year in and year out, that UT has faster and better (or more experienced and great
offensive line) players.....................at every position no less!!!!!!!
PFUI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least by the end of the Florida game most of us TV fans will be relieved of our misery because where the networks have a choice no one will bother picking up the UT games......

To pammyvol:
The receivers were there -- Crompton kept throwing the ball 15 feet too high (or in a couple of cases 5 feet short:)). Even the third-string QB for the other team eventually calmed down and started listening to his coach and executing better. And the one case where Fullmer said the right thing ("Daniel Lincoln did not lose this game.") is because he and the coaching staff lost the game. Geeeeezzz what a poor excuse for a coaching job!!!!
On It's a Hollywood disaster, but Fulmer says it's 'fixable'

The report card is spot on..... the coaching and preparation both sucked.....

We need Mike Leach AND a new quarterback. Plus a whole new team that cares enough to want to win and....errrr, well, ..................ahhhh, never mind.. we are doomed to be at the bottom of the SEC for the next 10 years.
On Davis is leading candidate to replace Fulmer
