Is Slive the problem? I don't remember having so many problems before he became the commissioner. But I think we can depend on little john to dig it up.

Maurice should be hired by the University as a consultant for the students and athletes who enroll at UT. He is just one of many who have made bad choices and wasted a period of their lives because of an attitude that was more important to them than reality. He has finally matured and applied himself to the pursuit of a
goal that will help him throughout his life. The cheers won't be as loud as some he has heard, but the results will be more meaningful.

Maybe adams can get the oregon coach fired since he was involved with smith after he left knoxville. But with his obsession with Phillip, that would be too reasonable for adams to understand.

Just another example of the local media biting the hand that provides the only reason for their existence. Even an earthworm learns after so many repititions. These hyenas must not be so smart. I hope Hamilton is smart enough to recognize and deal with this problem. Dickey surely failed to address it. Hamilton should at least take away their pass to the FREE buffet
on game days or else bill the sentinel for their participation.

What happened to cause the loss of the name "The Snake Pit" which Shields-Watkins was called for years? It ended sometime between 1971 and 1984.
The "Stoerner Stumble' was really a Billy Ratliff Rumble. Billy knocked the Hogs All American guard into Stoerner and caused him to lose the ball. This is one instance in which the VOLS were able to circumvent a set-up by the sec to cause them to lose the game. A couple of series earlier, the hog punter fumbled the snap, chased it down and kicked it through the end zone, a
play that should have given us the ball on the hog 4-yard line. Instead, the sec gave us a safety. (The following year, the same crew failed to call the very obvious hold on Cedric Wilson in the hog end zone as a make up to the hogs for Billy's great play).
In February 1960, Billy Cannon was given an award by The Nashville Banner. In his acceptance speech, he said, "I don't understand Tennesseans. You fly me 500 miles to Nashville in February to accept an award, but last November in Knoxville, you wouldn't let me run 2 yards."

"Tennessee is usually among the attendance leaders". REALLY????? How many times during the past 20 years have the Lady VOLS not led the nation in attendance? How many teams have had an average attendance of 10,000 during the past 10 years?
It appears they are trying to make the situation like an experience I had several years ago when about 5,000 came to the airport to see me leave Nashville. I have no way to prove it, though, because Liberace was the only other dude I recognized who was also on the plane and he is dead.

This is an example of the lack of responsibility by the players involved. If it was grades, they apparently could not handle the work. If it was drugs, their need was apparently greater than their desire to succeed in college.
In either case, the players are the losers. I hope they realize they have to follow the rules in whatever endeavor they pursue.

He was moved because the coaches felt he was a better OL than DL player. You may not recall that Cosey Coleman came in as a DL and was about third team until the coaches told him that if he moved to OL he would be playing on Sunday. The rest is history.
Some guys are better suited to offense than defense and the coaches can spot the difference.

This article should win the John Adams Award for 2008 unless John Adams is eligible for the award.
It should also place high on the lists for the KNS Tawdry Award and The Knoxville Media Award for Tactlessness.

Auriemma is using the old tactic of distraction,
By making a lot of noise about what Pat did, he tries to remove attention from his recruiting violations and the poor performance of uconn in the tournament. I suppose that would appease some of the uconn alumni, but then their expectations must not be very high anyway, especially if they have to cheat to try to win.
