It's hard getting a serious look on the collegate level if you're currently on the h.s. ...I remember a few years back when Science Hill HS (Spurrier's old school), dominated the basketball ranks. Even beat Oak Hill Academy and was ranked at or around #1 in the country for a time. But when ETSU needed a new coach, they wouldn't even give SHHS's guy the time of day. Glad Fulmer's looking at Quarrels. I hope he get's it.
The problem, however, may be his level of knowlege of the TE position and maybe OL line vs. Michael's. Both lack recruiting, and r. coord. experience. Still, it seems to me that Quarrels brings a lot of intangibles, including a hunger for success on the next level that's hard to measure. Clearly, he's a master leader when it comes to the h.s. student. This is his one and perhaps only shot with UT and possibly any Div. 1 school. If he gets it, he definately won't blow it. My guess is that he could be a fantastic recruiter, a quick learner, and a great great hire...in the long run maybe the best of the lot. But he's also a little higher risk, which is why he may not get it.
I trust Fulmer's judgement. I just hope that judgemet favours Mr. Q. He's a (very low) risk worth taking.

wkjp...Your point is well made, even if PumpUptheVOLume missed it.
No team wins all of the time. Only half win most of the time. Far fewer still as the percentage increases to the level we've grown accustomed to. UT fans (and I am one of them) can be hard on our coaches. Often too hard. We deamand a level of perfection that is impossible to consistently obtain.
The comments of WKJP weren't directed at Pat. They were a justified critique (done with humor) of those who have been so hard on PF.
Thanks wkjp for reminding us to lighten up.

This article suggests Mike Hamilton refused to fund even the most basic upkeep of the building.
A leaky roof? Come on Mike. You should have preserved the building better than that! It will cost the University much more to eventually replace it than it would have been to maintain it all along.
This appears to be simple mismanagement of a once valuable campus resource.
