Now DCflorida that is funny and true.

I am Tennessee through and through, but the inability to comprehend the english language on this site would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.

You are correct on Houston Nutt...he is one of the best game day coaches out there and always seems to get the best out of his players. He can really coach them up. He is not, however, the best recruiter....although in fairness...Arkansas and Ole Miss are not the easiest places to recruit to.

Butch, do not let facts get in the way of a good rant.

UT currently has 2 NFL Hall of Famers....Doug Atkins and Reggie White.

The Fulmer era will add exactly 1 more...Peyton Manning. That is it.

Al Wilson was really good and made a couple of Pro Bowls, but he isn't going to the Hall of Fame. Albert Haynesworth will need 5 or 6 more seasons like this year to make Canton....and I am betting that after he gets paid this off season...that will not happen.

John Henderson is very good as well, but no where near Hall of Fame good.

The only other player that could even be thought about in this realm is Eric Berry and he just finished his Sophomore year at UT, so NFL Hall of Fame and his name is pure lunacy at this point.

So, while I respect Coach Fulmer and everything that he did for UT, this nonsense you keep spewing about adding Hall of Famers from his era is way off base.

On Manning, Haynesworth take wait-and-see attitude on Kiffin

I like this hire!

I like the youth, energy and passion!

I am not ready to call down Florida or Alabama yet, because our roster is still the same as the last few mediocre/bad seasons....but given a couple of years....I think we can be right back challenging for SEC/National titles on a regular basis...while getting our share of the rings!

Go Vols!

On Kiffin introduced as UT coach; will make $2 million in 2009

On 'Young guy' Kiffin should fit in

Posted on November 26 at 10:24 a.m.

so, if some of you knuckleheads wanted to hire someone to run your local feed store, you would dismiss a man who ran IBM for 18 months because he doesn't have any experience running a company?

You guys do realize that the NFL is the pinnacle of the football coaching profession? You do realize that there are only 32 of those jobs out there right?

Look, Lane Kiffin may or may not be successful as head coach at The University of Tennessee, but to say he doesn't have any head coaching experience while there is clamoring on this site for Chris Peterson....heck some of you even want George Quarles and he coaches HIGH SCHOOL in East Tennessee!!!

Some of you guys crack me up.

Let's wait until we lose a game before we bash the new coach ok?

Thank you Coach Fulmer for everything, but I am glad you are leaving. I am excited about the future possibilities for UT football, be it Kiffin, Kelly, Davis or Leach (although the mad scientist is not my choice, I will get behind him if he is chosen).

And yes, tnbigg....Layla Kiffin is smokin' HOT!

Um, Bradshaw...have you done any research on Brian Kelly? No meaningful games? He won 2 National Championships in Division II, then took over a downtrodden Central Michigan program and in year 3 won the MAC ( the same conference that produced Urban Myer, Gary Pinkel, Bo Schembechler and many more great coaches). That Central Michigan team he left behind, won the MAC again last year and still has an outside shot at a 3rd straight MAC title.

He then went on to Cincinnati and led them to their first 10 win season since 1943 last year and currently has UC sitting atop the Big East at 8-2 while playing his 4th string QB most of the season.

No, he can't coach at all. Why we would we want him. He obviously can't recruit or coach up any of his players and when you throw in his lack of big game experience....look, it is ok if you don't want Brian Kelly as our next coach, but try to do a little research next time so you don't look like an idiot.

On Fulmer to reflect after season ends

The amount of ignorance and stupidity flowing from these boards would be hilarious, if it wasn't so sad.

For the few posters having an intelligent discussion and who actually know something about football...THANK YOU (Naffy this does not include you).

For the rest of you, all I can say is THANK GOD you are not in any way affiliated with the football program or we would never win a game again.

Look, All of the names being mentioned are good football coaches or they wouldn't be on the list to begin with. Some are a better "fit" at UT than some of the others. There are several that I could get excited about. Stop saying who can and can't compete with Meyer and Saban because you don't know #%&* about it. Whomever is hired will get his chance to prove if they can compete with the big boys, but we sure don't need your ignorant posts telling us who can and can't.

Also, stop all of this nonsense about your friend's brother's girlfriend's second cousin who has it on good authority that "_____________ is the next coach at UT" because they know less than you do.

On Davis is leading candidate to replace Fulmer

Everyone calm down...

Who cares about this recruiting class. It means NOTHING.

We need to hire the right coach....PERIOD. If the right coach is hired, we can lose EVERY LAST ONE OF THESE "Commitments"...as loosely as 17-18 year old kids commit to anything anyway.

The right coach will take matters into his own hands and the recruiting will take care of itself.

Remember...a bad recruiting class can set you back a year, a bad coaching hire can set you back a DECADE!!!

Just get the coach right, the recruits can stay or go...and everything will be fine.

Go VOLS!! Get it right!

On Adams: Familiar ring for making 1998 possible

KennesawVol,

Unlike Atlanta, Nashville supports their teams. Titans have sold out every game since arriving in 1999. The Falcons? Uh, blackouts are common. The Hawks? Please. Thrashers? No. Braves? I have been a lifelong Braves fan and even during the heydey of the mid 1990's...I have NEVER had a hard time getting a ticket to a Braves game...regular or postseason...and I have never lived in Atlanta. It is common knowledge around the country that Atlanta is the WORST sports town around and the statistics back them up.

They should be happy they are ranked as high as they are...considering they have 5.5 million people and Nashville has 1.5 million. Nashville regularly supports Vandedrbilt basketball and the Predators have the largest percentage of individuals as season ticket holders (i.e. non corporate ticket holders) in the NHL.

The 1.5 million people in Nashville support sports better than the 5.5 million in Atlanta in spite of the incredible music scene that competes for $$$, and I am not just talking country music.

Be happy with #16, because realistically....it should probably be more like #60.
