Talent may be down - but only FL,GA, and Bama have a better avg recruiting score the last 4 years.
If the recruiting services are to be beleived - we have more talent in house than UCLA,SC,AUB,and wyoming.
Coach Fulmer has been great but however he won in the past he doesn't have it now!!! These same players will have a decent record next year - they just need a coach.
Adams may be an jerk but he was right - last years trip to SECC was a fluke.

Give Clawson a shot!!!!!!!!!
He's bringing in the recruits see what he can do with them !!
Fulmer is not letting him run the offense he wants or use the players he needs on the field!!!
It will salvage this years recruiting class!!
CLAWSON - HC

Promote Clawson to HC - it will keep the recruiting class intact and he was successful everywhere that he didn't have Fulmer telling which playmakers to put on the field.

Don't be so hard on Clawson's offense - It make work if he could actually run it his way and play the players he wants. Do you really think he wanted to start Crompton and Foster - more likely he was told who would start. I think he should get a chance to be interm HC for the rest of this year and next. He seems to be bringing in the recruits - see if he can do anything with them next year.

Coach Fulmer won us a national title and we should always be grateful for it. Some believe he got lucky, but he deserves the credit; he should also take responsibility for the way the team is playing now. At the end of last year I thought he was turning it around, but it was a just a combination of luck and weak competition - not real improvement. I've been a Fulmer supporter for a long time - I hope he will resign and let Clawson finish out this year. It appears Clawson and his guys are bringing in the recruits; does anyone think it might be a good idea to give Clawson the HC job for the rest of this year and next to see if he can do anything with those recruits? I think he has had his hands tied so far.

What kind of idiot thinks any of these coaches would leave where they are -
1. Bob Stoopes;
2. Butch Davis;
3. Mack Brown;
4. Frank Beamer.
Maybe only Butch Davis.
I agree with whoever said - "Fulmer either plays favorites or can't judge talent during practice." Remember last year it took him 5 games to let someone besides Hefney return kickoffs or punts.
We do have great talent in the secondary, but their coach, who I understand is a fine man, must be none to smart. How else do you explain people being that wide-open. And not just this one game!
I say turn it over to Clawson NOW; as in Monday morning.
Let Clawson be intern HC until the end of this year.
We'll never know what Clawson can do unless Fulmer gets out of the way. I don't think Clawson was even given enough authority to decide who starts on offense!
I think Clawson and the guys he brought in are great recruiters too. Let him have a chance for the rest of this year anyway.
Adams was still wrong to call for Fulmer to be fired after the season last year; Fulmer did turn last season around on the field and to call for his job because of a few off field incidents was BS. I say judge the coach by what happens on the field - and I say - FULMER needs to go!!!
Chavis too!!!

It's not that we lose more than we win against Florida just based recruiting I would expect them to have a bit of advantage most years. It's HOW we have lost these last two years!!!!
The talent difference is not so much that we have to read headlines like this one on MSNBC - "Florida toys with Tenn. again". I defended CPF posting on here all last year how he was turning things around - Guess, I was wrong. It must be insane loyalty to keep playing Crompton. SIT Crompton down!! I don't care if you have to run G-gun all day. Hell - just snap it to G-gun and let him run the option and pitch it to Berry. But SIT Crompton!!

I've always been a Fulmer supporter on this site; I've argued that we finish about as you would expect in the SEC and that we can't expect to win the SEC often considering that every year there are 2 or 3 teams with more talent on the field than us. I still respect CPF - But I'm about tired of losing to teams we should beat outside the conference! And how many times will Coach Fulmer's loyality to one player (Crompton in this case) cost us a game! Surely Crompton is not the best QB we have????? After that first half I would have pulled him. See what Stephens can do in a real game!! I wonder if Clawson got to pick the starter or was told who would start???
Against Florida -
Let's hope the D steps up big like they did against Arkansas and Georgia last year.
Let's hope the O-line and RBs come up BIG.
Govols!!

I haven't read many post since the disaster, but has anyone brought up the topic of how Compton became the #1 QB? Will we ever know if there was a competition or of Fulmer told Clawson that JC would get the job?
I hate to think that's the best QB we have.

Why dont you head down to Knoxville and get in Parker and Fosters face - tell them they shouldn't carry their coach off the field cause you think he doesn't deserve it. I'd pay good money to see that.
Look - I was ready for a change too but show some respect for all his years of service to UT. you no class bum.
On A fond farewell: Fulmer goes out a winner
