Typical UT, now that the fire marshal ordered the building to no longer be used to hold athletic or other spectator events, it will be ok for kids to go to class there? I guess the AD will now have thier own $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ offices someplace on campus. Sports, parties, politics and acdemics at UT and in that order

02champs, you are so right. I have several in my house and it makes liberals like you crazy.

Is this the player who has like six kids by four or five other women?

As a father of three sons who were blessed play for G. Quarles at Maryville I can say without reservation that if GQ get's the job it will be UT's gain and Maryville's loss. He is a fine man and has principles only talked about at UT, but seldom seen these days. UT shows recruit's how to party and circumvent that law and the program could use some discipline that is the missing component of a winning team. Phil can coach but has turned his head and ran interference to many times for the thugs in the program. If he would really have zero tolerance like Pat does for the Lady Vol's, then UT will win championships again UT was once a stellar SEC program, it should be a blessing and privilege for a kid to run through the "T" and play in front of one of the largest crowd's in the country and another fan base watching on TV at home and all over the country. If that is not enough, go develop to an NFL player somewhere else, I would rather win with kids like Bill Bates, who was never expected to pan out but had the heart and will to become better. UT over looks many kids who could play and want to play at UT but because some recruit somewhere it thought to be better by some web page or press person the hard working kid is over looked.

GQ is TN born and raised and has produced many fine young men who were very average HS athletes who bonded together to beat many teams who were bigger, faster and regarded as better. But when the scoreboard ticked off the final seconds it was he and his kids celebrating, casing trophies and ordering rings. Top recruits don't win games, kids with heart trusting and respecting the integrity of his coach does. The X's and O's are the same at all levels of football the only real thing that is different is the ability of the players and the money involved. True GQ doesn't have recruiting experience but here in TN there are few kids who don't know who GQ is and in my opinion recruiting is why over rated in the first place. IF GQ gets the job and get's to pick his players one can only wonder what might happen at UT.

He should make his decision solely upon what is best for him and his family. Jerod I wish you great success at the next level.

Playing for a championship will mean very little when you are able to buy your mom anything she needs and take care of your family. You have worked hard and all you would be doing is padding the pockets of the money people around UT who care very little about you as a player or person and even less about the fans. Actions speak louder than words and when a real fan has got to pay $4 for a popcorn or $3 for a hotdog after getting chorused to make a $5000 "Donation" just to have the right to buy the tickets your Grandfather had, there is something wrong. I watch UT on TV and listen on the radio more now because I simply don't have the money to go to the games. TV coverage is less now than ever because the program has been run into the ground by the ole' boys and money people who are on self serve cruse control.

Look at the coaches. Rats always know when it is time to leave a sinking ship and they are looking for the money. If you do come back do it because you want too, and I'll love to watch you play for the orange again, but if you suffer a major injury that top 3 pick and the secure future for yourself and your family is gone and it won't hurt Phil’s pock one bit! Good luck, you got your degree, you've fulfilled your obligation to UT with honor. The NFL needs fine young men like you.

UT would be doing better to forget Cobb and go after the Maryville kid. Cobb has never beat a good HS team as 2A in TN is the weak of the weak!
How about those grades?

Oh I forgot, Grades mean very little at UT if you are a football player.

Finally UT is in position, given a few breaks can make a serious run at a title. They got all the tools and a coach that clearly knows what he is doing. During the end of this game UT allowed the Gonzos to come back but after a timly timeout the Vols never looked out of control. Great job. My prayers are for Duke Crews, I hope this kid makes it back and is healthly. Great job Bruce and team! This should keep us warm during what could happen to us during Phils annual fishing trip to Tampa.

Randy as long as you are one of the good ole boys who have quality athlete fall into his lap once and a while, it won't matter if you can coach or not. Just look at Phil!

As the ratz leave the sinking Vol ship with Captain Phil still yelling out the commands of stay the course and we got to work harder.

Same ole' song, same ole' dance. Good luck to the departing coaches, you are leaving befor next years new head coach fires you. Solid move.

Chief you better make some calls dude!

nbt44 said; "Fulmer, go get Randall Cobb from Alcoa High. He is the best QB in Tennessee. Don't let him slip away to Kentucky. GO VOLS!"

I don't think Cobb is the best in Tennessee, maybe top five but not the best. I will say he is better than Angie and does not choke under pressure. Last week I got tho watch two QB's who are better than Angie too, Burnett and Phillips during the Semi Final Game at Maryville. The kid from Pearl-Cohn Deaunte Mason could be a top pick as well. All from TN who don't crumbel under pressure. The protection the OL gave Eric this year was among the best ever under PF.

Hey who needs TV! We got the nightly news with starters getting a pat on the back by the knotzville police. No discipline or control of this team by the coaching staff. It's time for a change and a drop in revenue will bring it about for sure because it is all about money when it gets right down to it..
