If Majors hadn't hired Fulmer, we wouldn't have won a National Championship. And I wouldnt trade the memories of 1998 for nothing.

Sounds like a good offensive package. But until the O line starts blocking, you could have Peyton Manning and Reggie Bush back there and it wouldnt matter. We need to start recruiting in Japan, and get some of those sumo wrestlers on the line.

I believe after the 1998 Nat'l Championship, coach Fulmer entered into the "Comfort Zone" A scary place, and not as demanding. It can happen to the best of them. Some people taste the ultimate success in their chosen field and all the sudden they aren't as motivated anymore. You work your whole career to become the best, and then when you do, what next? I believe coach Fulmer is a victim of his own success.

Who says Spurrier can't recruit? I remember some pretty good talent at Florida. His problem now isn't that he can't recruit, its who he is recruiting for. SC is a tough place to get great talent because of the strength of the SEC east.
The mans a winner, thats what we need. Id say he is recruiting better talent at SC than what they have had in the past. If he comes to the Vols, his name alone would bring in some big time QB's, and hey, thats what we haven't had in a while.

A young coach would be great, but I believe we need an experienced proven coach first, then after the program gets rebuilt, the next hire could be a young coach. Spurrier could have an immediate impact

Chavis is not the problem at UT and shouldnt be fired before Clawson, who has this offense looking horrible. With the exception of the UCLA game, our D has played above average. If we had any offense, we would be undefeated right now. I still say Clawson was the wrong man for the job!

If we lose to Georgia, then the search for a new head coach should begin. I still say Spurrier would be our best pick unless we could get Gruden, which I doubt. Bob Stoops would be a great coach, but that aint gonna happen. Kippy Brown's name might be thrown in the mix. But I say lets get Spurrier, and if he could give us 5 good years, then maybe when he leaves Peyton Manning might be into coaching and we could get him, just a thought!
