I am absolutely amazed that are football program continues to deteriorate. The coaches and players show no emotion. There does not appear to be any cohesion among the players. How many times have we seen inferior teams like Southern Mississippi have when seen come to Neyland Stadium and play hard, hit hard and show a team mentality.
There is absolutely no reason that we are not ranked in the top 10 teams yearly.
There are several reasons.
1.U. T. has the most loyal fans across the country.
2. The athletic department has huge financial support from contributor, fans through ticket purchases and merchandise purchases. Additionally television, radio and advertisers which contributes to a very healthy financial status for U. T. sports.
3. We have perhaps the greatest athletic facilities in the country.
4. We have a beautiful college campus. We are located in a very beautiful part of the country with lakes and mountains.
It is hard to understand why any athlete would want to go to Auburn, Alabama or South Carolina.
Is not just a case of losing but we are not even competitive. I believe that has to be the head coach's responsibility to have a team which is well-prepared for their opponents.
I see that we are out coached ever game.
I think time has come that coach Phil Fulmer to be replaced. Perhaps he could remain on the football coaching team as a recruiter.
Perhaps the could be the athletic director since Mr. Hamilton doesn't appear to believe that we have a problem with our football program.
The loyal fans of the University of Tennessee deserve a respectable football program. The program has continued to decline over the past 4 years. It does not appear to me that we have any bright future with the coaching staff that we have at the current time. I think the main problem is the head coach. I believe the offense and defense head coachs have respect and talent to get U. T. football program back to competitive level.
It is very frustrating to see such a great football tradition to deteriorate given all the above resources.

The University of Tennessee football program is absolutely a disgrace for the football players, volunteer supporters and the University of Tennessee.
This criticism is not just because we lose games. There is no enthusiasm no obvious team spirit. I see other football teams respond like Southern Mississippi, Kentucky, South Carolina and even Vanderbilt play more inspired.
The head football coach Phil Fulmer sets the tone for the football team. I cannot appreciate any evidence of emotions during the football game.
Maybe it is because coach FULMER tries to be a friend rather than a coach.
Maybe it is time that Coach Fulmer be considered as athletic director. His personality seems well-suited for that position.
I absolutely cannot understand why we are not in the top 10 rankings yearly.
I hope that something positive will take place before we become the Vanderbilt of the SEC.
The reasons being as follows.
1. The financial support for the athletic department is certainly the best in the country.
2. The fans support for the Big Orange has no equal in college football.
3. The campus of the University of Tennessee certainly is in the top 10 in terms of academic diversity, recreational activities and a beautiful campus. I find it hard to understand why football players would choose to go to Aburn, Alabama or South Carolina. I can understand choosing a school in Florida.
4. The athletic facilities may be the best in the country.
