I believe it was at the U C and not Stokley where he got the t.v.

I lived at Gibbs it was stokely

Written on Tennessee's Stokely Athletics Center closing down :

Saw a lot of great Ernie and Bernie games there. Remember when ole Bernie got tagged leaving the building with a tv one night?

Written on Butch Jones press conference transcript:

Peyton will never coach at ut but he will be involved in some aspect just like he is now

Written on Charlie Strong: "Toughest decision I've had to make" to turn down UT:

There's something that's not right in all this. Anybody really know?

Written on Charlie Strong spurns UT offer for new deal at Louisville:

in response to VolzsFan:

It is idiots like this guy that seriously makes UT a national laughingstock. A legend, a Hall of Fame unanimous first ballot coach, the greatest run in school history, top 5 all time in the SEC, respected by his peers and voted as CFA President....and you treat him like trash.

He needed to go.....
and take his 10 wins on average with him.
All the future NFL Hall of Famers will not be coming here.
All those SEC Title games with him.
The only legit National Title in school history with him.

Dude, coaches look at what a school does. Several have said to Jimmy (that is agent Sexton to you knuckleheads) that if Phil could not make UT happy than no one can. No one wants to go to a mediocre program with fantasyland expectations that treated one of their own they way they treated Phil.

Pay attention. This is and will always be going forward a place for those that need a job (KIffin) or need a break (Dooley). That simple. The best hire in America would have been James Franklin. Instead it will be a guy that needs a job (Davis) or a break (Fadora).

That is so funny and pathetically ignorant to say it was time for him to go. I guess all that winning and all LOL!!!!!!!

Hey, are you enjoying your change yet??? LOL!!!!!

The guy is right fulmer had a great nov record but everything else is tight. He did get lazy on the recruiting and that was his downfall and we are still paying and will be paying for some time

Written on Is Tennessee's coaching search nearing the finish line, or does Dave Hart still plan more talks? :

in response to RoyaltyVol:

Good!

you ought to check this guy out where do you think the duck coach got some of his ideas we will see him soon enough

Written on Is Tennessee's coaching search nearing the finish line, or does Dave Hart still plan more talks? :

big heel booster just told me the heels will go deep to keep Fedora we shall see

Written on Is Tennessee's coaching search nearing the finish line, or does Dave Hart still plan more talks? :

in response to RememberWhen:

First of all, NC has done a real fine job of killing themselves the last few years. Second, I fail to understand the infatuation some have with Fedora. What has he ever won? The current ACC is the worst major college football conference in the last 25 years and he couldn't even win it. NC LOST TO DUKE!! Ok, so he won at S. Miss a year ago...big deal, it's CUSA!!! The man would be over-matched at TN in so many ways it's comical.

we would lose to duke the guys a motivator and can coach

Written on Is Tennessee's coaching search nearing the finish line, or does Dave Hart still plan more talks? :

in response to Razzle:

Yes, the more I hear about Fedora the more I like him.

I live near chapel hill and got to read and see what Fedora did in a tough spot but with Davis players I think he would be a great fit I aint no nc fan so it would be a steal really tick off the tar heel nation maybe some small payback

Written on David Climer: Tennessee Vols coaching job lacks its previous glamour:

in response to VolinCalif:

Al and ND stumbled around for over 10 yrs each. and You put them as the top. Give UT a break, they're slumping , yes they are but they haven't been down near as long as Bama and ND were.

they're headed there fast

Written on David Climer: Tennessee Vols coaching job lacks its previous glamour:

in response to whatthe84:

This is what I have been saying for a long time most on here view UT through orange colored glasses. They think that we are viewed as this great opportunity like an Alabama, or a Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida etc...well we are not viewed like that beyond your nose. Well the house is on fire and who wants to take on the job of putting it out and then trying to rebuild it when we don't really have the money? Our roster is not nearly up to speed and our reputation with the younger high school players is one of an also ran. We have not been a real factor during their young lives. We have all these traditions that don't mean anything to them since UT gets its brains beat out everytime they meet a school that is competitive. The signature win for CDD was NC State and their coach got fired at the end of the season! Everytime we have been in a big time game we always find a way to lose. We can't even recruit our own state. Tennessee is recognized as a state with a low number of big time recruits and I guess that is true. The problem is that UT can't even get the big recruits that are from the state. They are picked off by Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, USC...If you look at this years talent most all of the kids are going elsewhere and now Vandy is picking off good ones too. The future is bleak for sure the expectation level should be reset as to how and why a high profile coach could acquired. Realisticly we will need to take a unknown up and coming lower level coach. The only big name that could be a possibility is Bobby Petrino, he is radio active and might be pursueded to take on this house fire. I know that is not popular but I think it is true. I guess that maybe Charlie Strong is still possible and that would be positive, but it is not by any means a lock. Now Gundy is being thrown out there. I ask once again why would he leave his own school where they are supported by the billionaire T Boone Pickens to take this outhouse. Could we get some perspective on here and some since of reality. I don't want to hear about Fisher, Gruden, Gundy, Stoops...absolutely ridiculous!!!!

right on your post. the program has been on a downward spiral for 6-7 years maybe longer. its gonna take awhile to get things right

Written on David Climer: Tennessee Vols coaching job lacks its previous glamour:

missed on the guy from N ILL the guy can coach and recruit he is young and is a real go getter the big name guy is not the answer. its going to take awhile to get the program where everyone wants it. does the vol nation have the mindset to wait it out?

Written on Vandy: "Let UT have Knoxville, we’ll take Nashville and then let’s fight over the rest":

in response to rabblerowser:

Tee sippers 41-has beens 18. Keep drinking that UT tradition till it gets you drunk. How'd it work out for you last Sat dude?

Enjoy your dream while it last it won't be long

Written on Vandy: "Let UT have Knoxville, we’ll take Nashville and then let’s fight over the rest":

Vandy is still vandy they ain't beat anybody and never will. Let them blow all the phooey they want. It's a short lived dream

Written on Tennessee coach Derek Dooley stepping into bigger role in struggling defense :

Guys I dont care who we fire hire or whatever else we do we gotta get some studs on the defense who can play at the elite level we just dont have them and its very very evident

Written on UT's 'embarrassing' defense goes from bad to record worst :

Oregon put 62 on little lane. Don't we go against the ducks soon

Written on First: South Carolina 7, Tennessee 7 :

Anyone notice greise trashing the defensive coaching

Written on Derek Dooley: 'We got whipped by a great football team' :

in response to volsbandit:

Ohio State has really struggled their first year with Urban Meyer, huh? 8-0. No setback. That's what good coaches do. I'm tired of excuses. We are digging deeper and deeper with Dooley at the helm.

Bucks have much better athletes overall

Written on David Climer: Dooley and entire Vols program need crutches after loss to Tide:

(This comment was removed by the site staff.)

We haven't been getting elite players for quite sometime didn't just start with Dooley

Written on David Climer: Dooley and entire Vols program need crutches after loss to Tide:

Let me say it one more time. We don't have the players to compete with the elite teams. If you didn't see it last night then you must have been watching something else !

Written on Tyler Bray returns to practice :

in response to 6972:

I had no idea at the beginning of the season that we had such a shortage of speed in our defensive backfield. It is obvious now that is the case. I think Tim Priest first pointed that out to me. If they play up close, recievers blow by them, if they play off, the short slants, curls and out patterns kill us. There is no substitute for speed. It is said that speed kills, well in the world of defensive secondary football, a lack of speed will kill you also.

Like I've said before we just don't have the studs yet. It's very obvious !

Written on David Climer: For Derek Dooley, it's finish or be finished:

in response to jandjhome#228397:

I agree with you Rock Vagas, I have been a VOL fam many years, and I belive these guys are the worst defensive backs that we have ever had.

I agree like I've said before,we just dont have the studs yet to play with the better teams you gotta have the players man

Written on Frustration mounts after UT misses another chance to 'get over the hump' :

we just dont have the players to compete at a high level yet. our recruiting problems go back 10 years. look at the top teams and its easy to see,we just dont have the studs

Written on Five key points five games into the Tennessee football season :

we are where we are because of the last 5 years of fulmers recruiting and the kiffin debacle
