Some of you guys need to pay just a tad bit of attention. The CBS and primetime ESPN games, the SEC's top 2 time slots, aren't even listed. Nor is every game that will wind up on ESPN2. Florida is a lock for CBS, while Georgia will end up on ESPN at worst. Auburn is a definite ESPN/ESPN2 game as well. Alabama will likely be back on CBS this year, but will fall no further than ESPN/ESPN2. The only reason it wound up on Raycom last year was because CBS waited until the last possible minute (the Monday before) to select the hot match-up between feel-good Kentucky and #1 LSU. ESPN's selection had already been locked in at that point. But as far as this year is concerned, South Carolina is also very probable for ESPN/ESPN2. I'd say there's a chance the Mississippi State game winds up as an ESPN/ESPN2 contest as well, with the Bulldogs being much improved. If not, it's a definite Raycom game. Kentucky and Vanderbilt will likely be Raycom games as well, with one of the two possibly falling to PPV. Wyoming and Northern Illinois are locks for PPV. The sky is not falling after all.

Lived in Memphis for more than 21 years. I have never been mugged, never seen someone get mugged, or know anyone who was mugged. Every city has dangerous areas to stay out of, Nashville and Knoxville included. The Memphis bashing is beyond absurd. Now feel free to tell me about all the people you "know" who came to Memphis and barely made it out alive.

Not to beat a dead horse, but nothing in this story stood out more to me than this:
"The meeting between the East Region's No. 2-seed Vols and No. 7-seed Bulldogs marks the first time in NCAA tournament history two 30-win teams have met in second-round play."
Forget about getting stuck with Louisville and North Carolina, that's exhibit A when it comes to the evidence of the Vols getting hosed.

I just don't understand why they have to play the thing in the stupid Georgia Dome. I understand it's more seats and more money, but every other conference plays in a traditional arena. I am glad to see they've committed to play it outside of Atlanta a little bit more in the future, with one in Tampa, New Orleans, and another one in Nashville coming up in the next few years. I'd like to see one in Memphis, but that won't happen until Conference USA decides to play elsewhere.

You have to feel for him a little, but Bruce inherited a roster with 3 starters remaining from a 14-17 team and turned them into a #2 seed. I'd like to think Buzz would have eventually gotten the program to the level it is now, but it doesn't seem very likely.

I think it was fairly similar to the Jerry Green situation. Decent success but no one really liked the guy, so it makes it easier to fire him. People like Bruce Pearl, so no, that wouldn't be the same situation.

Those helmets are absolutely atrocious. Why not just use the same scheme as the hat?

Ah that's true on Xavier, I guess I was subconsciously blocking out the Buzz Peterson era...

It seems like we go on the road first in most every home and home we play. It doesn't really matter I guess, it's just strange. But the multi-game contract with Memphis, and home and homes with Texas, Oklahoma State (technically neutral sites), Ohio State, Gonzaga, Xavier, and now Kansas have all started on the road.

It was actually Kentucky/Florida that CBS waited until the Monday before to select. Kentucky had beaten LSU the week before. My fault, but it doesn't really affect the point.
