I semi joke about this, but Mike Singletary as head coach paired with a Norm Chow/Cutcliffe style OC. You get a the discipline so badly needed, the name recognition, and a diversity candidate.

I really have no clue if he's a good coach, but worth looking into. After that pants dropping thing I doubt 49'ers retain him.

Mike Singletary as head coach!!! You get the discipline, name recognition for recruiting, defensive mindset, and a diversity candidate also. He'll need a Norm Chow or Cutcliffe type paired with him as OC but it'd be cool combo.

I'll admit I have no idea if he's a good coach, or whether he'd keep his pants on during halftime talks, but it'd be worth looking into.

Can you imagine what would happen to Josh Briscoe with him on the sideline? Might need a medic.

I know folks will say this is moronic, but how about a combination Mike Singletary as head coach with a stud Offensive Coordinator?

You get the discipline, name recognition, diversity of Mike Singletary who is also a defensive nut and throw in an OC (like a Norm Chow/Cutcliffe type) and you've got yourself a team. That assumes Mike can keep his pants up during his halftime speeches.

Am I late to this party and miss an article but did anyone see that Brent Vinson was nailed for booze and pot?

I knew he was suspended for the last game but damn.

Why do I only get the breaking UT news on SI.com or ESPN.com?

Briscoe just reinforced what's wrong with this program. Do you think under a Meyer or Sabin you'd have a receiver laughing on the sidelines or saying words like this? Bye.

Phil Fulmer - we'll miss you. You are a class act. But this was the right thing to do.

It comes down to the simple fact - do any of you believe this program was headed in the right direction? Was an SEC championship in our 2-3 year future? DOES ANYONE REALLY BELIEVE THAT?

Any of you that have ever led soldiers or even just ran a small business know you have to make calls based on your gut. I think all of us knew this program was not headed in the right direction - this season was not just a bad luck year.

Now if you don't think it's moving in the right direction do you take the hit and make the change? Or do you hope and pray things will get better? Those of you who run successful businesses know the answer to that. Those working at Walmart probably don't.

Fulmer is a great man and should be respected. I would have preferred we waited until the end of the year but maybe this is a recruiting strategy to trump Clemson and Washington.

I feel horrible about this but it had to happen.

Everyone out there - ask yourselves "Is this program under Coach Fulmer on track to win an SEC or National Championship in the next 2-3 years?"

Does anybody seriously think the answer to this is yes?

If your answer is no, is there anything you see left to do but change direction?

This will be ugly, it'll be more like Michigan's turnover than Alabama's.
