One name I haven't heard, but should definitely be in the mix, is DeWayne Walker (def. coordinator at UCLA). This guy can scheme and recruit with the best of them, and he always gets the most out of his players.

Hopefully Mr. West will approach this with the right attitude and be back with the big orange in the near future. He has some great examples of perseverance in Tyler, JP, Maze, among others.

Wonder if he called KNS to do this...wonder what his wife thinks. Wonder if this is some way of "showing her" what he can do. Happy for our basketball team and their success as it has been very exciting. I'm not so happy about losing a family for a trophy and buying a castle to prove something to yourself.

If it is Kiffin...home and home with USC in the future? What a series that would be! (of course we'd lose on the West Coast, but Tn - USC in Neyland would be cool) Also...Kiffin can recruit nationally...he did it at USC. If we can keep Drayton and the receivers coach from Richmond...what a group of recruiters! While I have reservations, this would not be a terrible choice.

I'm actually sad we won...without an offense until garbage time. Fulmer still needs to go. The perpetual underachieving has got to end.
On Is it time for a warm, feel-good story for underachieving Vols?

BYU's coach following the TCU thrashing:
"I was very impressed with TCU tonight," said BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall. "Coach Patterson had his team more prepared than I had our team. They were sharper in every phase of the game and executed at a higher level from beginning to end. That comes down to simply coaching and preparation. We're looking forward to learning a lot from this game. There are many things to learn. I don't think we played to our potential in any phase of the game."
This sounds like the last few years on Rocky Top...it was one game for BYU.

Didn't watch the game...no need watching a foregone conclusion. Not surprising. This team has quit, and so have the coaches. This is a waste of a season...too bad I spent a bunch of money to see UT in Pasadena...but it was obvious then that this team was wholly unprepared to play. Fulmer philosophy? What philosophy? There is absolutely no direction with this program...and they've already drowned.
