That was 1998. Why are we talking about it now?

It sounded like maybe you had forgotten. I think he deserved a mulligan for the Clawson hire , or at least a chance to have Clawson's version of a spread offense led by a qualified qb.{Tajh Boyd was commited}. Johnathan Crompton made a lot of coaches look bad. Yes he was Fulmer's recruit, but many elite programs wanted him at the time.

Is he the same Fulmer who got lazy and complacent? Is he the same one that got drummed in the Chikfila Bowl by Maryland and Clemson? Is he the same one who, in his last 9 years, failed to get the Vols to a BCS game? Is he the same one that lost to Wyoming in Neyland on Homecoming? That's what I thought!

Aren't you the one who pleads with everyone on this site not to "feed the trolls", yet you spar with toddy girl and jeffy at your own discretion? That's what I thought. Do you think you are the only one wise enough to put them in their place? Fulmer's time has come and gone. I prefer coach Jones to him now, but he remains the coach who led my favorite football team to it's only NC in my lifetime. He deserves credit for that if for nothing else

I try not to respond to someone so worthless that they puruse other teams websites every day to post insults...but...so much for tradition.

Georgia is the perennial second fiddle. UGA has finished behind UT and Florida so many times I don't know where we end and they begin. Always a strong recruiting class, yet manage to do less with more, every single year.

I recall several SEC teams capturing the BCS Crown - UT, AU, UA, UF, and LSU...but no UGA. So, that being said, when you become a big boy and have the hardware to backup your horsesh:t then and only then can you talk trash. For now, you and your second rate football team can have a nice big cup of STFU...

Well done. Evidently the fans in red only watch from the waist down as those "glorious Silver Britches blow past..."

I posted this a couple of weeks ago when they discussed the 9.1% increase in salaries within the athletic department. I'm not sure how much fat is really being trimmed.

- Given the consolidation and budget crunch, the 7.2% headcount increase is worrisome.

- After you take out the increase/(decrease) in salaries attributable to the new football staff and Coach Summitt, that still yields a 5.6% increase in salaries. That's over 3x the increase in inflation during the same period

I was fixin' to post those exact same stats....

She single handedly got the Lady Vols the title in 2008, with her care of Candace Parker's shoulder. She's first rate and a true Vol. I hope she nails the UTAD in her lawsuit - they've earned it in the last 2 years - and exposes Hart for the fraud that he is. Maybe then folks will wake up and send him packing.

I agree that she did a good job with Parker that year. That doesn't mean that no one else could have gotten the same results though.

Kinda like that 30 point win was the beginning of a tradition for you of some kind. At least we didn't give Joker a raise for that 10-7 win. Although it should have got your coach fired losing to a losing team with no QB with a bowl game on the line. And that 30 point loss in basketball followed a National Championship with the expectation of another this year. Who was the joke on?

Next time read the whole comment. I clearly said last year was a down year basketball-wise for Ky, and that I didn't expect many results like that.

Written on Tennessee continues recruiting surge with addition of Gaulden :

in response to UkJarhead:

Thanks for the reminder why I think you suck. If by UT getting "back" you mean a winning record and a bowl game, good luck. In the past 6 years guess who has been to more bowl games and beat more ranked teams, UK or UT? Our new coach while proven, as is yours, to recruit well- has actually done something at a high level. Florida State or Cincinnati? Hmmm. I think Butch deserve a raise already. He has done more than Martin. What a joke?

I'd say that thirty point win over the Kats earned Cuonzo much of that raise. I understand that last year was a "down year" to Ky fans, and I don't expect many thirty point basketball W's vs. Ky. One enamel challenged Ky fan on this site thought a 10-7 kat football win was the beginning of a tradition of some kind. What a joke.

Written on Kentucky F Kyle Wiltjer says he is transferring:

in response to SevenT:

Wiltjer probably was not willing to do what was necessary to play for Kentucky (like learn to play defense and develop his core strength). Kentucky is not for everyone, it is a winning program for top talent. Calipari probably encouraged him to look elsewhere for a better opportunity. And Cal will no doubt pull strings and help Wiltjer find a better fit.

People who follow College Basketball know that what Kentucky is doing with the young player is now being copied by Kansas, North Carolina, Indiana and other big basketball programs. Kentucky invented the utilization of young talent, now others are trying to catch up.

I think that Jordan kid was a freshman when he hit the game winner against Georgetown. I had no idea he owed all that to Cal and ky. You make Joe Biden sound like a genius.
