KNS. Another negative article in reference to the Vols!? Do you guys want to go over and spit on the "Power T" and maybe later kick Smokey around? I have to ask; Did all of you guys secretly graduate from Bama? Just once, I would like to see you guys write something to prove your loyalty to the Big Orange rather than be so worried about being perceived as "objective" that you go over-board and become negative. Oh yeah, one more thing. VOLS, female dog!!!!!
in response to eduardo: And what is your passion a 5-7 football team?????????

Yep! Next question?
It was a secondary violation at most. Number 6, if it is. Hmmm. How many do the other schools have?

in response to 1manningfan: Great this Nuke Richardson is on board, but come on im way bigger than him. If Coach K is running a so called Pro syle Offense than this kid sure as hell ain't playing motherF-en Wide out. I got news for you guys he ain't! He wont see the field and make an immediate impact next fall guarantee. Hope he proves me wrong so I can eat crow. No im not a bad negative Vol fan just a straight shooter and call like I see it. This outrage from me is because im PISSED about Marlon F-en Brown's DUMB @$$ decision! GO VOLS!!! GO SEC!!!

Rivals has a much more positive spin on this. I think KNS has been hanging out with "Chicken Little".

Gatorzzz, you stay on this site like you haven't got anything better to do. Who stays on a rival site this much? That's un-American. I'll bet you don't even like apple pie, do you? What about it; do you like apples Gaterzz?
Like other recruits in recent weeks, Edwards – who says his finalists are Tennessee, Minnesota and Cincinnati -- raved about the recruiting experience this weekend inside Neyland Stadium.
"The stadium was, 'Wow!'," he said. "There was nobody in there but just the intensity of coaches and how they pumped us up, they had it like it was gameday. They let us try on a jersey and everything. That stadium is ... I've never seen anything like that."
Hoping to earn early playing time wherever he signs, Edwards said the promise of such an opportunity was a common one in the recruiting process. But he believe that opportunity is more genuine at Tennessee.
"That's what I'm trying to do, if I did come," Edwards said of playing early. "That's what they say at all the schools, but it just seems like it's real at Tennessee. Everybody's starting on the same level with the new coaches. The upperclassmen don't have any upper hand on anybody. If you compete and are a better player, you're going to get the job."
And now, Edwards says, he'll spend the next 10 days deciding where he's going to compete.
"My trip was great. It was a good trip. As far as Tennessee goes, it was a good overall trip," said Edwards, who indicated both Oklahoma and Syracuse recently had shown interest. "Everything's out there. I just want to see and sit back and think about everything that's been said and thrown at me. I just want to relax and take it all in and be able to make my decision."
Rivals.com rates Edwards a three-star prospect and the No. 48 cornerback in the nation.
(Part II)
Mike Edwards wasn't quite sure what to expect on his official visit this weekend to Tennessee.
But a standing ovation for football recruits and the Vols' new coaching staff at the UT-Memphis basketball showdown was completely unexpected.
"That was crazy. The basketball game was good by itself, but just to see recognition the football team gets at a basketball game like that shows how much respect the city of Knoxville has for the program," said the three-star defensive back from Glenville (Ohio) High School. "I wasn't expecting a standing ovation walking in that day. People were telling me they heard me on the radio when I was at the basketball game. That caught me way off-guard, me being all the way from Cleveland and people just knowing me already.
"It's only going to get better. I'm just up for the challenge that coach (Lane) Kiffin has for his players. If I decide to come to Tennessee, I definitely want to be a part of that."
A couple of weeks ago when VolQuest spoke to Edwards, the 5-foot-10-inch, 170-pounder had talked about wanting to meet Eric Berry. Edwards' hosts for the visit were Berry and Art Evans, and Edwards was impressed with the manner the All-American Berry handled himself.
"He's a person that I would love to be around," Edwards said of Berry. "He's quiet like me, but I can adapt to my environment. He was a real person. A real leader, a guy that wants the best for himself, his teammates and wants to win."
(Part I)
Rhea County offensive lineman Kevin Revis always knew that he wanted to play for Tennessee. He was in Knoxville over the weekend trying to learn about the new Vol staff and help recruit other players that might want to wear the orange and white.
"It was really good," Revis said. "I got to meet the players again and know the new coaches. I also hung out with the prospects. I made sure to talk to everyone of them and tell them this is best place to be. I felt like a lot of kids are feeling good about it."
Revis has been to Knoxville several times. Seeing the academic side and all of the facilities was obviously nice, but he's been there and done that. This trip was different due to the activities.
"The basketball game was cool," Revis said. "Coach Kiffin took us in the locker room and they had jersey's for us to put on and we ran out like it was real game. We all took a picture together with the our jersey on. It was a great experience."
During the basketball game, the crowd of over 20,000 fans gave the prospects a very nice ovation. That was a moment that left Revis and the others in shock.
"That definitely showed how committed everyone in the state is," Revis said. "That is one of the things that separate Tennessee from other schools. The fan base is just great and that plays a roll in recruiting."
During the down time, Revis got to know the coaching staff and he tried to focus on building a relationship with the coach that will be teaching him how to become a better player.
"I talked to coach Cheney a lot," Revis said. "He's going to be coaching the guards and centers so it was good to spend time getting to know him. I also spent time with coach Cregg. As for the players I spent a lot of time with Carson Anderson who was my host and Ben Bartholomew."
Revis says he learned two things from his visit that let him know that the new look Tennessee staff was ready to put Tennessee back in the championship mix.
"I learned that they are going to coach with a lot of intensity," Revis said. "They are also going to have a lot of discipline and I think that is what the program needs. I also learned that the players are great, no matter what grade they are in. Nobody is stuck up."
Revis made the short trip back to Rhea County on Sunday afternoon with one mission to complete before he arrives for good this summer. He's has to get bigger, faster, and stronger.
"They told me to hit the weights and start running," Revis said. "They told me to get to work and to make sure I come in as big as I can and as fast as I can."
Revis might not wait till the summer time to come back, he said he might be back in Knoxville next weekend to help the recruiting efforts.
"Who knows, I may come in next weekend since I live so close and try and help recruit a little bit," Revis said with a laugh. "It's just an hour drive."
In response to BlueTick; Thanks. Going thru withdrawals. Need info.......need....INFO!!!
My condolences to the family. God Bless and keep you thru this difficult time.
It would be great to get the talent although I don't put much stock in rated athletes at the HS level. We're making a lot of people nervous with CLK and company. Whether founded or not; It's effective.
in response to NoogaVol55: You are so right man!!! It would be better for CLK to say... "We went out and got second rate coaches, who have never recruited before. We don't want to step on any toes in the SEC, because there is no way we can compete. I hope Meyer, Miles, Saban, and Richt like me at the many SEC functions we attend during the year. We are going to go play hard with middle of the pack talent and bring 4th place finishes in the SEC East back to Knoxville. It is not going to be speacial guys, it is going to be mediocre at best. Hope everyone is as excited as me!!!" Are you kidding me right now??? He is fired up, and trying to get his coaches, his players, and his fans fired up...wait...Phil...Phil is that you...dammit...you got me again. You change your username so much, I can't keep up. You are such a prankster Phil!!!! I tell you what!!!

Gotta' admit, Going to KY with a win is a GOOD thing! I'm thankful for the "W" and looking forward to taking down the cats. GO VOLS!!
in response to blitzshoot: Good point. It would be nice to see UT throw a 6'11"/7'0" guy in there. A road win in the SEC is a good win.

I agree, but GA is big and we did alright. Of course they were 40% beyond the 3-point arc. I think we played man to man well at times and at times GA could have driven a truck to the basket.
Ok. Give us your take on the game. What great insight do you have? So far, all you've had to say is about the people on this site. Takes a real genius to critcize those who state their oppinion. Especially when you haven't given yours.
Are you talking about everyone or just yabba? Doesn't seem right to generalize. We're fans of varying degrees of experience. Diversity is a GOOD thing.
FLA St. Looking good against Duke early.
That's what I'm talkin' about!!! Take the W!
Smith with another double/double. Another good night.
I beg to differ Goshdarn. If we win every game by one, it's still a win. Now they know they can finish.
Maze seems motivated as well. Up by 7 1:08 left. GO VOLS
We got it!! We just got to finish. Up by one with 3:58 left. We can do this!!
Hopson looks like he's sleeping in the lane on defense.
We really need to find the chemistry to be a team. Looks like a bunch of talented young guys in a pick-up game. I know CBP sees it. It will improve. I just hope it comes together before tournament time.
Flat coming out. Crowd back in it. Let's see how we do.
Missing layups and Prince doing an "O-fer" on free throws. Still, We're up at the half in GA. Can't complain too much. GO VOLS!!
chism is looking good for the 3. Smith doing his thing.
We got no "ups". Our guys have no air between the floor and their shoes on the rebounds.
Looking better but still out of sync.
I think if we play it inside on offense and stay man to man, we should be ok.
Looks like we're actually trying to play some "D
Thank You!! Something sports related. Something beats nothing......any day of the week.

I think I acknowledged this up front. Your post is why I won't do two shows-a-night anymore. Nope. Won't do it!
in response to alwaysorange81: I'm complaining. And some one is complaining about my complaining. And some one else still is commenting on not commenting as a complaint that wont be heard but of course the original commented upon complaint wouldnt either. Im going to complain about people complaining about people and write a comment telling the complainers not to write comments about comp.........I think I might have broken something. Here in my brain.

in response to orangevolz: Did everyone wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? There is no football news to report. Believe it or not, there is not a breaking UT news story every minute of your waking life. Give the writers a break and quit whining about every single article they write. Or better yet, if you read something and don't have anything significant to say, don't waste your time with a ridiculous reply. Grow up!

As much as you have the right to complain about us in this forum, we have the right to complain about this article. Understand? Or is the first amendment too much of a muturity stretch for you?
You have GOT to be kidding me! Do us all a favor and put this in the "variety" or "business" section of the paper.

Would have been nice. No doubt. But...it's a "non-issue" now. Moving on.
