Somebody is not being totally honest, May never know which it is..
Stealing home is a rarety in the majors, even rarer to do it twice in the college game.

I'm surprised the word police at GVXTRA didn't edit that word....Someone there must have googled the meaning..LOL
Standing up for your school is mandatory, being a buttski is a choice...
The breaking story on cheating etc is usually never correct on first print, i would guess the truth is somewhere in the middle of this first edition..
I'd like to comment, but i haven't got permission to do so from navyvol-thank-rand paul something or other yet

I'm sorry to offend you sir, i was under the impression this was a open discussion site, since i don't think i said anything offensive i will just say thanks for your service to our country but just be reminded you are protecting our right for free speech among other things...sorry i took advantage of that.
Maybe i'm missing the big picture here, but how does this benefit either school?
in response to John_10065: I am not suprised to see some of the posters here talking about bring back Pearl. There's never a peep from any of them when the program is winning under Martin then they show up like carrion beetles picking over a dead corpse after a disappointing end of the season. Overall it hasn't been a bad couple of years considering the circumstances. You guys sound like whiny UK fans when they aren't in the final 4 every year.

And sound like Vol fans when we don't win 12 games in football every year

I laughed and slapped my leg with delight after ky lost last night...now i feel a little guilty for doing that.
Punk!
in response to golfman1975: At the end of the first half there was 2 fouls called on one play. How can you have a block on a drive...pass the ball and hit a layup and get another foul? There were 20 fouls called on Ky and 17 on the LV's. Ky shot outside all day while we drove it inside and got fouled.

31 turnovers, 26 ftas to 12 ftas and still lose by double digits..enough said.
in response to AHOUSE: You are right, can't blame the ref's for the loss, but they sure should send them back to school. It seemed like they had the whistle in the back pocket or somewhere close when KY was fouling.

That can be said about every game played in the sec both mens and womens, but 31 turnovers, 15 more fts attempted and still get beat by double digits tells me the the team did not compete...Just my opinion.
Box score Tenn 22-26 fts...Ky 7-12 got beat by a team that wanted it more can't blame the refs for this one..maybe we can beat them in the tourney.
Georgia's game plan was to cut off Goldens driving to the basket and keep Stokes from getting the ball in the paint and they accomplished both, but were helped by the guards not even trying to get the ball to Stokes.

Priceless!
Good example of how hard it is to beat a home team...Miss St. takes out Ole Miss...
I hope that wasn't WD that was cuffed and lead out of the stands at the end of the game... ;)

YES to all the above.
I was thinking FFL.....Felon For Life
This team reminds me of Wade Houston teams, but at least Wade brought allan with him..Martin has brought nothing so far...
in response to HooRay_Vol: I hate going to the stadium, trying to find a decent place to park that doesn't cost a fortune, fight the crowd, get to my seat and find someone is already sitting there, but it turns out that the other people in the row ARE SO DAMN FAT that there is barely enought room of our two seats, then we sit shoulder to shoulder or have to lean forward the whole game to see a team lose to VANDY or KY. No thank you. And for all you obese losers.....LOSE SOME WEIGHT!

I bet you are a really wonderful person to sit beside, slim....NOT
I watched the ole miss uk game on espn tuesday night, the key to shutting up this big mouth is to beat them..He and his mohawk didn't have much to say after the game...
I say looking ugly in a win is better than looking pretty in a loss..LOL
I've watched a lot of sec games this year and they have all been ugly to some extent...
I wonder if he will be trying to get the cboys to draft Patterson and Hunter?? Smart money says no...
That's like giving your number to ex-girlfriends and saying call me if you need to talk... :)
Tried to get a tech called on him but couldn't??? Never heard that said before..
May not be that big a deal, most can't read anyway.... :) (only half kidding unfortunately)
If Stokes doesn't get the led out, it's going to be a long sec stretch i'm afraid.

in response to StoneJackBaller: I'd be willing to bet that this kid smokes pot on a regular basis and fears he would have to give it up to play in the SEC. At Azusa Pacific, the name alone almost invites dope smokers. He's making a lifestyle decision. We're better off without him.

You only have to give it up in the sec if you get caught...;)
Kinda like asking, if you were neck deep in phooey, and someone threw a bucket of snot at you would you duck? In other words i will not root for bummer or notty dame.
in response to johnlg00: Just to be clear, I'm not saying anything about the condition of Jeronne's knee, since I don't know any more about that than anybody else. I'm just saying that Tim is sometimes rather free with his opinions, and it is not implausible to me that it is simply a matter of Jeronne not being in shape yet and CCM is just sandbagging about when or if Jeronne will be, in his opinion, in shape to play.

Yes it could be knee + bad conditioning + sandbagging + Tim and on and on...heck he may play tonight..LOL
in response to johnlg00: Maymon's father Tim has always had his own take on things. It was said when Jeronne first came here that Dad was a major influence in Jeronne leaving Marquette because he objected to how Jeronne was being used. Let's just wait to see how things work out before we jump to conclusions.

That makes more sense than just a knee problem..thanks for the additional info johnlg..
in response to govolsn3: There is more to this than injuries or being in shape. Just stay tune and see. I sure hope it is not going where it usually goes on the hill but it always raises its ugly head just like it did a couple of years back. Why these young men can't just be college students is beyond me. They have the world right in the palm of their hands and just can't make decisions for the benefit of the rest of their adult lives. Kenny Hall learned it last year. Just hope this doesn't turn into another front page headline.

Exactly right, this just doesn't pass the smell test, i'm not sure what the real problem is but i do know there is really no logical reason to keep Maymons knee problems under lock and key..My opinion only.
It may not be what Tyler wants, if he comes in with the attitude that he displayed sometimes with Dooley, Jones may help him make the decision to go pro....Jones has that "my way or the highway"look which most of these athletes nowadays.
He made the trip to check out the job..and turned it down, maybe he isn't convinced that the program is headed in the right direction..Just a thought.
The first 2 years of coach Jones tenure will no doubt be unspectacular by most vol fans standards(not losing seasons perhaps but not the 12-0,11-1 seasons expected) but after the 3 yr that's when the proof will be in the pudding as they say..i think he will be a really good coach if given the alloted time.
in response to hueypilot: I hear there is a rash of broken ankles in Lexington. People are jumping out of windows there owing to the Wildcats back up back losses under Cal. Turns out those windows in horse barns just aren't that high off the ground.

Sounds like a few of ut's loyal football fans have jumped off rocky top also, banner year for funeral homes in both states..

That's Bobby P's brother..
Here's a realism..If UT hires another dud coach then we are probably stuck with him for more than 3 yrs..I don't think the school can stand another buyout any time soon..

Mike just got over a mild stroke...i'd say the rigors of sec football would not fit well with his health. A 20yr deal might be a tad long...LOL

in response to ULTIMATEVOLUNTEER: Not a big deal. Great defense. Off night on offense but with Maymon-the zone can be had with him at the free throw line. He busted it well last year.
