Written on Mike Strange: Suddenly, beating Texas A&M is a big deal:

Why must I leave knoxnews and go to ESPN to find out the start time? Couldn't they just add that bit of info in the column or am I missing something about "trending" of electronic meda?

in response to Ironcity:

I will say this Pope reminded me of Lofton back in the good old days. Nailing one big three after another. UT reminds me of those old UGA teams that Lofton routinely score 25-30 a game against.

I agree.

moron Vol fans!! that cald-well pope dude was hoopin!!

TN basketball willl be fine...maybe coach needs to open it up a bit....

let him get his playas!!

moron know it all vol fans startin to act like bammers!

Agree that the pope dude was good but that doesn't explain why this team is going backwards.

Written on Georgia delivers a punch in gut to Vols, 68-62:

For real. The only reason I watched this game is because American Idol sucks worse. What's with those women on that show?

Written on Butch Jones says Vols were 'selective' :

Wake me up in 2016 and let me know if things are better.

Written on Georgia delivers a punch in gut to Vols, 68-62:

Nobody cares anymore.

Written on Butch Jones says Vols were 'selective' :

Basketball is so irrelevant that it doesn't even merit an article until the next day. John Ward used to say Bottom when we hit a basket. Now it's bottom of the heap. Oh, and today was national signing day. I almost forgot.

Written on Butch Jones says Vols were 'selective' :

Blah Blah Blah. SHUT UP.

Written on Mike Strange: No one does 'new' like Kentucky under John Calipari :

As Beavis and Butthead say, "this sucks"

Written on Bruce Pearl: Don't end Vols-Tigers:

The University of Tennessee is showing outstanding consistency. Can't compete in football or basketball.

Written on John Adams: Time for 'serious' changes at Tennessee :

I think John missed one idea that would make bigger difference than what he suggested. Tennessee needs a new play by play announcer. One with passion. One who is a bit of a homer and doesn't apologize for it. One who can excite the listener rather than sounding corporate.

Written on Charlie Strong spurns UT offer for new deal at Louisville:

The basketball team can't score a point. Now this. UT's equivalent of a fiscal cliff. Maybe in my next life UT will be back. ROCKY BOTTOM.

Written on Missouri beats Vols in 4 overtimes, 51-48:

I'd like to second SignalMtnVol's motion to move Kesling out along with Dooley. He's a part of the mediocrity surrounding this once proud football program. I love to listen to radio announcers with the exception of Kesling. I would rather miss the game than listen to him.

Fool!

Written on Wind could affect today's South Carolina-Tennessee game :

they know not what they do

Written on Halftime: Alabama 23, Tennessee 10 :

Bray can not get it done. Time to put in Worley.

Written on Tennessee to host Alabama at 7 p.m. on ESPN :

More coaches available who could do better: Johnny Majors and Phil Fulmer. Also, Dan Mullen might want to move.

Written on Reality Chomps: Florida runs over Tennessee in second half :

Well, tickets for future games will be easy to get. Tickets were scarce last night and going for as high as $400. Also, there were counterfeit tickets being sold.

Written on Justin Coleman part of position battles :

Does the GoVols247 have significantly better coverage of UT? This site seems to have been significantly reduced its coverage compared to last year.

Written on Mississippi beats Tennessee 77-72 in OT:

Bubble dun broke!

Written on UT not issuing Kenny Hall pass against College of Charleston :

Is the Southern Conference expanding? If so maybe Tennessee should consider moving there from the SEC. Oh, wait a minute. We would be only in the lower tier. They might want Tennessee.

Written on The Streak Ends: Tennessee falls to Kentucky, 10-7 :

Was it just me, or did we fail to adjust to the continual blitzes toward the end and tried to go long every single time?

Written on Third Quarter: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 14:

It's hard to blame him. The whistle blew.

Written on Third Quarter: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 14:

Another Vanderbilt play. Vanderbilt out-Vanderbilted Tennessee. Yay.

Written on Third Quarter: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 14:

Great clock management after the interception! Blew 20 seconds with a timeout! Pitifuuuuuul

Written on Third Quarter: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 14:

This is a nail biter! Like the good old days againtst Florida and Alabama. But no, it's Vanderbilt.

Written on Halftime: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 7:

Big Question. Will Vanderbilt be Vanderbilt or will Tennessee out Vanderbilt Vanderbilt?

Written on Halftime: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 7:

If we screw up and win in the 4th quarter, does that mean we'll have to keep Dooley another year?

Written on Halftime: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 7:

Written on Halftime: Tennessee 14, Vanderbilt 7:

Well, here we goOOOOO!!! No more second half points!

Written on Give Them (0 and) 6: Big plays lead to Arkansas onslaught, 49-7 :

What's with the new format at govolsxtra.com? I guess we have 3 things that now suck:

1. Bob Kesling
2. Tennessee Football
3. The Knox News Sentinel

Are there others out there that feel like our football tradition is going down in flames on all fronts? Or am I just overreacting?

Written on Third Quarter: Arkansas 35, Tennessee 7:

While we all agree the football team sucks, let's throw Bob Kesling in there to be fired with the coaching staff. He makes me SICK!

Written on Third Quarter: Arkansas 35, Tennessee 7:

GOP debate over. The news about the game sounds pretty dreadful. Does anyone believe the new AD will take action to change this embarassing situation?

Written on Halftime: Arkansas 21, Tennessee 7:

A break in the GOP debate. Doesn't look like the Vols are doing very well. Glad I enjoyed a nice dinner and am watching the GOP debate. You people watching need to find something better to do until this thing gets fixed.

Written on Halftime: Arkansas 21, Tennessee 7:

I've been commenting over the past 2 games that i would no longer watch this pitiful display of football until things get better. Thanks to all who are keeping me informed of the continuing debacle. For about 45 years, I've done most anything to watch TN football to a point that people thought i was crazy. Now, I don't care because the product is so bad. Let me know when we get competitive again and I'm back in the fold. Hey, back to the GOP debate.

Written on Third Quarter: Tennessee 24, Middle Tennessee State 0:

Thanks for the update from those of you loyal enough to watch this poor product of a football team. I said after last week, I would no longer subject myself to watching this poor product. It's been a great beautiful late fall day. I have been enjoying the LSU-Alabama game. Go LSU! Look forward to watching UT again, IF, I'm still alive that far from now.

Written on Offensive ineptitude: Drives stall close to end zone; Gamecocks capitalize:

First let me say that the KNS makes it almost impossible to get in on the message board. That said, as a long long term vol fan, I will not waste another minute watching or listening to a game until I'm convinced they're once again competitive. I had to do this in 1981 or 1982 when we lost to Army. I don't care who is to blame or why, just wake me up when I should care. And oh by the way, I wish someone with more energy than me would start an ouster of Bob Kesling. I would rather listen to Obama and believe me I barf at the thought.

Written on Third Quarter: South Carolina 14, Tennessee 3:

I've made a vow to not watch another game until I think we've become competitive again. I did this once before in 1982 or 1982 when Tn lost to Army. This is ridiculous. All you people can go on and on, but for me its over until we put a competitive team on the field, I don't care who the coach is or when.

BKS,

I so much agree with you on the state of Tennessee's radio announcer. Now that we're in the new Kiffin era, I think its time to make a change. I would love to get Mike Keith to replace "checkerboard" but that's probably not realistic. We need more people to jump on the "Get rid of Kesling bandwagon."
