I agree Brownie we did struggle against those teams you named but they did get things together for the end of the season run (except for the last 2 minutes of the season). Vols went in the wrong direction at the end of the season. To me they played much better up to the Memphis game and after that they never seemed to be themselves.
We'll see about the Vols and final 4 within the next 3 years. I have my doubts until proven wrong. Should be a great season coming up. I'm ready for it now. Well, i'm anxious for Tenn/UCLA in football also. Yes, i'll be pulling for Tenn.

BigOrange why give all the stats on C-USA. I never said that those teams were great. All i've said is Memphis is. Don't even care about those other teams. They are as bad as most teams in the SEC.
You can give as many stats as you want but it doesn't change the fact that the Tigers were in the national championship game and beat some of the top teams in the country to get there. Not only beat but destoyed them. We do have UT to thank because that game let the steam out and after that the Tigers played more relaxed like they had earlier in the season. Without that game they may never have made it to the championship game. The Vols on the other hand struggled all the way. Look at your last 4 games. The games that meant the most. Ark in the SEC. American and Butler and then Louisville. The Vols did not play well in any of those games. Stats can't change it. I think even uncle Maze would agree with me on that.
Tigers in a blowout at TBA in Jan.

Brownie was trying to involk a more angry response, such as Robbie's.
Vols did struggle against American. I believe it was a 2 point game with only 5 mins to play and cbs kept swithing over there with the... "do we have an upset brewing" comments.
You had beaten Ark. by something like 20 points just a month earlier. As far as having to play at Ga. Tech during the tourney, Ark. had the same situation.
Robbie.. don't let us interfere with your football season preparation. SEC top conference in the country? I'll agree. In football I do think it's the best. You were talking football right... certainly not basketball?

Memphis, best team in the state. Always has been more than likely always will be. Vol fans can imagine what they want about why we visit the site. Say what you please about the Tigers but you know in your heart that they are better than the vols. It hurts huh?
BigOrangeVol, since you are asking all the questions, here's a few for you. Can you tell me how the newly crowned number 1 team in the nation can go out and lose it's first game as number 1? (and you say Memphis choked) Can you tell me how a former number 1 team can be beaten by a lowly Ark. squad in your most important game to date at that point. Then can you tell me how you can struggle against a team named American in the NCAA tourney when things really count? Can you tell me why the vols struggle with a team called Butler? I do believe you are 1 and 1 against that powerhouse and almost 0 and 2. Such a nail biter in the tournament. I believe it went to overtime and you were beaten and eliminated by them once before. Can you tell me how the former number 1 team could be blown out by a mediocre Lousiville team that was blown out by North Car.? Seems you guys don't know when to turn it up a notch. You seem to turn it down when it really matters.
Also wondering how Texas could beat you so badly on a neutral court when Memphis blew them out in what was basically a home game for them. When they were giving it everything they had.
Just a few questions for you since you are asking questions. Oh also can you tell me why a team that has a record of 2 wins and 1 loss over another team with the last game being decided by 4 points can brag so much over 2-1 record? Just kinda shows there's not much to brag about.
Tigers... 2 straight elite 8's and last season to the national championship game. Tenn....err well... sweet 16 ....yet again.
SEC 6 teams in the tournament and 4 eliminated in their first game mostly against nobody teams. Only 1 team out of 6 won more than 1 game and that one team nearly lost everytime it played. You guys make fun of Conf. USA? I do believe Conf. USA teams could have roughed up the SEC last year. They couldn't have been any worse.

The jealousy of the Memphis program(big brother) is very evident here. Good to see that Memphis superiority in basketball eats at you so much. Maybe one day you can make it to some final 4's and have some bragging rights. Till then you can always enjoy watching the Tigers in Mar. after the Vols get eliminated.

And the hits just keep on coming.
Looks like another prize recruit has signed. This one for the 2009 season. For those that get into that type of thing, he's the 17th ranked player according to Rivals.

Collier that's not obsession. That's genuine hate..ha. I prefer blue bags myself. If they could just put a little tiger on the bag... perfect.
Murray... Memphis didn't play anybody until they played you. Whew..I won't go down the list again. Don't flatter yourself by listing the Vols as 'somebody'. We like to refer to them as the "little brother" some call them 'the tournament chokers' but I won't go there. I know your claim to fame is that you won the game the last 2 years. Prob is you won that game but we keep getting the prize. We have bigger fish to fry. I know you can't understand this. We've had our sights on national championships while sweet 16's seem to be the barometer of success around here. It would be tough for a fan of a program that 'never has been there' to understand a Memphis fan. By the way, you can win that game every year if we can go to the final 4 and you won't play any good after the game and crash and burn in the tournament. I'll take it everytime.
Oh yea, after the 'we beat you the last two times' Comes.. "well you have crime in your city". You have thug players with tattoos and you lost in the national championship game. Pretty bad.
Now Collier go to work. I know you by now. You'll research and come up with your stats where Tenn. wins. No prob.. you're ok. All's fair in war.
Guys, wouldn't worry about your recruits. AS you have told me soooo many times. Pearl is a class act. He wouldn't pick players like what Memphis has. He's into academics etc. I am glad you've had a turnabout on the tattoos. I heard so many times last season about the Tiger 'thugs' tattoos. Also heard that the reason the vols lost games last season was that this was not Pearls team. So, is this years Pearls team? We'll be watching.

Tiger news. Doneal Mack attempting to come back to the team. Former Tiger Rodney Carney traded from Phil to Minnesota. Former Tiger CDR interviewed on local Memphis station was clearly upset with where he was picked in the draft. He said his main goal now is to prove them wrong. He had this same attitude last march with everyone was picking against Memphis. As they advanced to the natl. champ. game he was never satisfied with any win during the tourney and expected to win. He did prove them wrong and he was the most valuable player on the team for 3 seasons. Amazing he was picked so late. A first team all american. I'd watch New Jersey this year. I'd say they are going to be much much better. The guy is good.
I'll keep you guys posted as any new Tiger news rolls in. No need to thank me.
