Next to POTUS, and a Baptist preacher, being hfbcoach @ UT is one of the toughest positions in the world. Phil's given more than enough. C'mon its Thanksgiving, Vol fans ought be grateful.

The same could be said for Slick Shelley, starring @ Tulsa this year. Saban ranked #1 with mostly freshmen. This is damning. And I don't understand it. I know this much, something ain't right on the hill. Sorely lacking in player development

Pat's doin' it again! She's amazing. No need to ask her "what've you done for me lately." She shoots down Strange's fb theory: "Longevity equals hotter seats."

Coach Summit is the exception to the recent fb article about "LONGEVITY MEANS HOTTER SEATS." The longer she's here the better she gets. How does she do it? Character, discipline, experience, love for what she's doing, having fun doing it. Awesome respect and reputation. She won't tolerate slaggards either. But most of all she wins champtionships! She's "done a lot for us lately too," that helps. Instead of a slow decline, she stays at or over the top. I hope she stays as long as she wants...and THEN RUNS FOR PRESIDENT! She's already got my vote.

THE "SOURCE".....
Aha. Gotta love it.

Ability. Experience. Decision-making. Bottom line is performance. Git 'er done Nick. Here's hoping this opening gives the "gunslinger" his chance. UT's offense doesn't need a Tebow, just somebody who doesn't do more harm than good, who can hit slants, be on target to keep the D from stacking the LOS, so our running game and defense can do it's job. Special teams seems to be settling down & Britton will be back for GA. There may be hope yet.

I've thought a lot about UT's dilemma. I can't understand why somebody would want to stay where he's no longer wanted, appreciated, respected? I've come up with several reasons/excuses: money, W/L record, pride, fear of being a failure while failing, denial, honestly believing it can be "turned around" again...and again. All of the above and some left out? I hope when the time comes for me to walk offstage and let somebody else take over what I'm doing, I'll be able to do it with dignity and grace. I keep singing with K Rogers' "You gotta know when to fold up. Know when to walk away." That's never easy or simple. All anyone can do is look inside: Am I enjoying this? And look outside? Is this good for the institution? What is the preponderance of what I'm hearing? Is this going anywhere? Then look up and leave the rest to God. No reason to look down, when you've given your best, and I believe Fulmer has done that. Maybe it's time tho to let somebody else try.

LAST.
Wouldn't it be great if it didn't matter who got to be FIRST?
And what if it did?
