I am inclined to agree with you but I hope it doesn't happen. If we can get Maymon back fully recovered along with Stokes and the new recruits I feel the Vols can be a very competitive team. Of course good coaching is the key and I am not sure if CCM can get the job done. Hate to sound so negative but I don't have much faith in the coaching right now.

That's funny, but spoken like a true pot-head..Why do we put so much pressure on the fb team?? My wife pointed this out last year..The night before a game I couldn't sleep or eat, and after the game I was a basket case/depressed. Why put yourself through such misery?? It's only a game, but many fans/alumni (myself included) put undue pressure on young athletes for our own desires/wants. We all need to lighten the hell up and enjoy this 2013 team rather than wish the season away hoping next year yields a SEC championship squad. I believe in CBJ and I'm proud of every player on UT's roster regardless if they win 5 games or 12..GBO!!

You sound like someone knowledgable on drug testing; I am too. As a hint to parents, "hair testing" is the most absolute way to test your kids for drugs, you cannot mask it, and it stays in the roots of their hair for up to 6 months (depends on the person).. all test labs certify around 99.5% accuracy up to only 90 days.. That's the kind of assurance you need.

UT Athletics will not use hair testing over urine because it is so deadly accurate, if they did, half the time would spending the winter with Marlin Lane in Florida.

in response to licknpromise777#651578:

To say you don't know the status of your one of your top backs is NOT a good thing..I doubt Marlin will let 2 years of hard work fall to the way side over a personal issue..Coach G is clearly not happy with his unexplained absence and being stuck with raw non SEC talent at no#2 back..Jay Graham worked hard to sign a decent back the last 2 years but failed miserably..All he produced were 2 backs that were basically the girls nobody picked for the prom and now this season it's going to really bite us in the rear..Considering the chance for immediate playing time for a solid 3 or 4 star back and in 2 years he produced SQUAT!!!! When I look at Bama's and GA's parade of top#10 backs it makes me sick

With the RB's committed already this year I feel that CBJ will sign another RB in this class, as we cannot have to many top RB's. Same thing with OL and DL.

I am not gonna get all pumped up this go around a wait for some results instead. Coach Jones will have to show me the money. I still say that he is in way over his head for a SEC coaching job and the powers that be at UT missed another opportunity to hire a big name to come to Knoxville. I sure hope Jones can right the ship but it is highly likely and when you recruit out of the top ten in your own conference that sits you back 2 or even 3 years right off the bat and he will only get 3 years to get it done and if he doesn't they will write him and check too. I have said it so many times on here that if the contract would have been 3 years @ 18 million instead of the 6 years @18 million, UT would have had the pick of the litter in college coaches. Either way the UT is going to pay the money whether the coach gets fired or not. Very sad but the truth of the matter the UT brass put VOL NATION in a downward spiral that may be worse than the eighties. I sure hope that I am wrong.

I sure hope that you are wrong also. We need to back CBJ and those kids who will be playing their hearts out for the Orange. We all know that turning this program around cannot be done overnight.

Peyton should stick with resurrecting his career in Denver and selling cars on TV commercials because nobody is going to buy any of this jazz.

Peyton's career is going just fine and for your information, fool, he is one of the most respected and loved players in Vol history. Franklin pumped life into a doormat. He is winning bigger than they have ever won since the 1920's. He is a great recruiter, great coach and when he gets to a place with real resources, he will win a National Title. UT missed out on a guy that is the best coach in Vandy history. He WILL win a National Title before Jones. Not at Vandy but somewhere else.

If UT would have hired him we might get back to several rungs below where the Hall of Famer had it. That would still be better than most programs and way better than UT is and will be doing. Franklin was the obvious choice and UT missed again.

Is he your brother, then I could understand your thinking. If not then you need to get your head out of your arse, the Vols have had enough a--hole coaches.

Clue to Franklin. People are not offended when you stand up for your school. They are offended when you behave like a jerk. Your stuff is weak when you criticize a person's choice and then try to twist your criticism into an attempt to support your school. Try a little more thought and a little less emotion before you speak.

Agree with you. Franklin needs to start engaging his brain before he starts flapping his lips, his foot is so far down his throat now that it will soon be coming out his anus! I guess he thinks the remark about Jalen Hurd was supporting his school, give me a break.

Does CBJ use poster board signals like Oregon? It takes a whole team of cerebral individuals to be on the same page play after play in that type of offense. I've heard of the back 40 (acres), I guess this is the linebackers and Def backs 3+4=7.

I would have written "The Entire Defense is slow with bad fundamentals and even the fat boys up front are afraid to take a hit for the VOLS"

I would agree with you that the defense is not as quick as CBJ would prefer but the time is coming. You might go up to one of the lineman (you call them fat boys) and spew your garbage, then see if they will take a hit for the Vols. God help the "student athletes" who dared have fun during the Spring break. After all, football players really aren't "students" as much as they are "athletes." What if their academic professors demanded as much of them as their "athletic professors?"

I feel like this is part of CBJ's overall plan, the dedicated players will come back looking like there has been no spring break. There was plenty of time for the players to work out and have fun time IMO. To get the program back to where it was will take dedication.
