Written on John Adams: From Butch Jones to Lane Kiffin and everything in between, it's season of anticipation:

Attention Kids; Coaches are not ignorant when it comes to recruiting, even though most don't understand this. Most recruits will commit to a School who they think needs them and they can play quickly and then scoot off to the Pros. Let's be honest!

Written on Vols say that first year of camp under Butch Jones marked by 'energy':

All of us expect more but remember our team was gutted last year. Expecting more does reflect the enthusiasm that Butch has created. In my opinion; we need to simply "Shut-up and Show-up" for the games and give Butch complete support no matter what happens. Next year the pressure will be more on him because his recruiting will begin taking effect which looks pretty impressive. Support, support and more support is what we need this year from Media and Fans! Just "Shut-up & Show-up"

Written on Summer trips added new perspective for some UT basketball players:

I love it, the Kids growing up and realizing Basketball isn't everything in your life but being human is.

Written on Mark Wiedmer: Phillip Fulmer takes responsibility, likes UT Vols coach Butch Jones:

Would of Could of should of. It's a new day leave it!

Written on Mark Wiedmer: Phillip Fulmer takes responsibility, likes UT Vols coach Butch Jones:

The AD is the man or women that notices what's going on and let's the coach, whoever he is he's falling behind but if you have no experience at AD you don't know that. I think all Phillip needed was a nice kick in the butt.

Written on John Adams: Schools should be waiting in line to hire Bruce Pearl:

I would hire him back in a heartbeat. A smart AD would have just suspended him with pay until the thing was over which would be next season but the former AD who crashed Football and Basketball at UT put his tail tween his legs and Ran. No Guts? NO Glory! No basketball Coach. Nothing against our coach now who looks-up to Pearl too.

Written on In wake of Manziel saga, UT rewrites autograph policy:

We never had this problem before Why do we suddenly have it Now? It's called "Control" from the Very Old thinking NCAA who wants to make the money and not share it with the ones that make it for them the Student. That's stinking thinking and could begin the end of the NCAA as we know it today.

Written on Poll results: Over three-fourths at least OK with Vols' gray jerseys:

Hey it's just a uniform and guess what there will be more and more changes as time goes by. It's good for recruiting and a fresh look for an old traditional team color, which I admire and love but we need change more than you think. This year we move into a completely new arena of College Football. You won't believe the changes getting ready to happen and I mean real Major changes in the next couple of years. We have to on our toes or get left behind.

Written on Tennessee releases 2014 football schedule:

I hope we fill some of those Open dates with meaningful opponents. We've got to play-em if we want to become noticed Nationally and remember in 14 the playoff's begin it's important and ESPN SEC channel starts in earnest.

Written on UT's Don Mahoney wants to send his line out on winning note:

I'll say it again the offensive line blew me away. If I was on defensive I would be intimidated and over the years in seeing them they are a Nice bunch of educated guys I respect them and I hope they kick some bottoms and get the recognition they deserve.

Written on John Adams: Phillip Fulmer needs to look in a mirror before assessing blame:

Mike Hamilton, in my opinion made some real stupid mistakes out of obvious inexperience. He was looking at things as a business not as an Athletic Director. Compared to other schools who have great coaches they normally stick with their coach through ups and downs. No school can expect to stay on top forever name one that has. Fulmer should have been given another chance to right the wrongs that caught up with him. Now you see the results. I hope, and it's looking like we have a good one the current coach can get us back but he hasn't played a game yet. We'll see. At least the AD today at UT is a Sportsman first.

Written on Law could be trouble for brokers in Manziel case:

This is a very interesting play on this. The school can sue those who gave money to a athlete who knowingly violated the rules. Is there something wrong here?

Written on 1 Vanderbilt player released on bond, 1 indicted:

I was drinking, under the influence of a pill someone slipped me. They are only kids. This does not take away the fact a Woman was raped and those involved knew what they were doing and deserve punishment. Welcome to the grown-up world.

Written on In UT's open practice at Neyland, Butch Jones says fans will get sneak peek at 2013 team:

I'm sure our videographer will have it for those that can't attend.

Written on Vols buying into Butch Jones' many quirks:

Coach Jones is what the Vols needed. The enthusiasm alone is worth it.

Written on A 'smokey' shade of gray for Tennessee football uniform:

Change is good in anything if done correct.

Written on Reaction to new UT uniforms likely generational:

I'm an older Vols Fan and I like the change why because we're embarking on a new era in Knoxville and the SEC competition is going to be much greater as other conferences catch up. We have to be on our marketing toes and anything that catches attention is worth it and example is the team we're going to play soon Oregon what will they wear when they play the Vols? I'm glad to see the old Traditional fans, of which I'm one like the Uniforms don't stop experimenting in all sports at UT.

Written on Vols new alternative football uniform adds a 'smokey' shade of gray:

Players like cool and they like change and want to be the first. Players matter give them all the ammunition they need.

Written on Vols new alternative football uniform adds a 'smokey' shade of gray:

now let's read all the traditional attitudes from the old guys about the change.

Written on Vols new alternative football uniform adds a 'smokey' shade of gray:

No doubt about it, I like it any change after all those years is Great we're moving up in the football world with a new awesome Coach and keeping up with other schools a darn good looking uniform! We're not the Old Vols we're the New Volunteers! Bout Time and I'm sure the kids will like it. It creates some missing pride in our team.

Written on Conferences end licensing deals with EA Sports:

The way I look at it if your picture or talent is used for someone else to make money YOU deserve your cut period. The NCAA has been taking advantage of College kids long enough as they struggle to get through School. Enough!

Written on Vols to play Wichita State at Intrust Bank Arena:

Well it's part, but it shouldn't be of becoming bigger. It's normal for us to play Kentucky twice in a season.

Written on John Adams: SEC could lose best player and still win big:

Honestly, there's something wrong here. I think things have gone to his head and we will see the results of this during this season. It's happened before. I wish him luck and "luck" is why we're even talking about him.

Written on Jones savors challenge of rebuilding Tennessee:

The offensive line blew me away when I saw all them side by side Pretty intimidating to say the least. Looking at the schedule there are no teams in the Nation that plays teams like the SEC. When we hear others brag about teams outside the SEC we, in the SEC know they just don't know football like fans in the SEC know, The level of play is on a much higher scale, period.

Written on John Adams: UT's upset-minded fans should have Georgia on their mind:

Oh yeah I have Georgia on my mind in fact, I now live in Georgia from TN do you want me to tell you what it's like to wear my Orange T-shirt down here? Whatever you thought you are right and I love it!

Written on Butch Jones introduces motion drill a la Harlem Globetrotters :

Do I hear an echo? I like the Coaching and beginning to understand what he's doing we have a Great Bunch of Serious kids which leads to Serious Winners! I'm Stoked and can't wait!

Written on With Riyahd Jones out and Vincent Dallas in, Vols scrambling at cornerback:

Other football players Heads-up. Pay attention You never know what's going to happen to a team that's rebuilding. You could Start if you got what it takes as a freshman. In the SEC "starting" can get you automatically in the pros. at least you'll have a great chance!
I like the coaching at the Vols we have a better insight into what's going on with the close coverage we're getting. Good Job Guys!

Written on John Adams: Vols prove that inaction can be a virtue:

I always hear about Tradition at the U of T. If we go by our past, tradition means we never turn tail and run from any team and that includes Oregon. Look at LSU last year we actually beat them. Who knows what will happen but I do know if you don't play them how can you beat them and how do you train your kids to play at another level unless you play teams at that level. We need to get rid of our loosing Minds and change to a Winning Mind-set. So far we have a Great Bunch of Kids I'm proud of them and back-em all the way.

Written on John Adams: Tennessee football is due a run of good luck:

When it comes down to it We know nothing about how our new coach is going to do but we love to assume. I had forgotten about loosing to LSU when we actually won the game. Bottom-line lets be fair We have No Ideal how we're going to do this year but I will say; because of videos being used by GoVolsXtra it has given me a closeness to the team that I never had before. To see the front defensive & offensive line was frankly awe inspiring and even better, there are a bunch of good kids with a good coach. Prediction; A Big upset is on the way Who will it be? Time will Tell. Watch out here come Big Orange!

Written on As Vols start to add pads, coaches will pick spots for practice hits :

When you think about it injuring your players before they even play a real game seems a little weird, after all your early games are almost like practice anyway hopefully. Think about it.

Written on RB Brandon Powell rescinds commitment to Vols:

They are only baby's I mean kids looking at South Beach and the weather which really isn't bad at all however a football player it does not make when most don't make the team. From what I've already seen at TN I would have stayed. The competition scared him but these kids forget YOU must first make the team no matter where you are.

Written on Illinois point guard Larry Austin commits to Vols for 2014:

inch by inch, step by step!

Written on 5 Big Things as Vols start camp:

I'm Stoked hyped and anxious. We're all part of this.

Written on Veteran News Sentinel sports writer Dan Fleser weighs in on the University of Tennessee's new:

It's a traditional thing with Old TN fans, of which I'm one but I like Change. TN has always been cool you don't look cool wearing the same thing year after year and neither do you. Spice it up!

Written on John Adams: Tennessee's quarterback competition no big deal if winner isn't big-time player:

Impressive! the players are mature for their age which speaks a lot about the coaching staff. I think Worley will get his chance and he deserves it. He's intelligent wants it & all he has to do is learn It. I don't see this bunch throwing footballs at cars or partying out of hand because I guarantee you the Coach won't tolerate it. We're stoked and with you guys All The Way Go Big! Orange!

Written on Jabo Lee's coach upset with Tennessee:

remember when you point fingers there are three pointing back at you. good Luck & Good riddance

Written on Poll: Of Tennessee's four non-conference games per season, how many should be against teams from power conferences?:

Why don't you just put a Poem in here or something else, tired of this stupid poll, for the 3rd time cause you have nothing to write about.

Written on John Adams: Butch Jones' recruiting proves that UT tradition still matters:

I don't know what Butch Jones has to do to show fans He's ready to rock and roll! WE should for that reason alone Fill the Stadium to show our appreciation.

Written on Poll: Of Tennessee's four non-conference games per season, how many should be against teams from power conferences?:

Can't you remember what happened with this stupid scheduling? Hamilton ran. He wanted UT to have a good season by playing small college teams. Guess he forgot we (UT) has never ran from any team. Seems like we never think "What if we beat Oregon, Southern Cal etc."? I'd rather play and loose than play nobody and win. At least 3 out of 4 non conference games should be with quality schools. The TV revenue itself makes it worth it.

Written on Peyton Manning on his future: I'm all in on 2013:

I'm stoked for Manning and can't wait until he joins the UT coaching staff as Quarterback coach. Hey we can dream can't we?

Written on Video game offers possible preview of new Tennessee football uniforms:

We have a tendency to get all caught-up in tradition I've learned to let go of the past and strive for a better Future. The only tradition I care about is the "Winning Tradition". Any change in the old traditional uniforms of TN. is welcomed by me and I'm sure TV as well. We are starting new again so let's look New it's exciting instead of the same old same old. I like the New changes hopefully it's only the beginning of a "New-Look" UT.

Written on Dave Hart, J.J. Clark want to see Tennessee get back on track:

I do remember the day with Big Orange would really do good in Track nationally in fact I was impressed cause we didn't pay attention to it at that time. Now look at us; Softball, who'd a thunk it? Baseball, Track, Even Golf. We've come a long way baby!

Written on Ejections will be jarring penalty for 'targeting' hits in 2013:

I don't care how all us hard-core football enthusiasts feel It's the right thing to do We forget its Only a game important to the schools but not worth injuring someone for life. It's not impressive to see someone intentionally hit someone high to injury him. It's Stupid thinking.

Written on Mike Strange: A stronger Tennessee levels SEC playing field:

The Big Orange Giant has awakened and it's hard to be patient. The SEC should add another game to the schedule. It would help balance things a little more and would be Fun but a revived TN would scare the paints off opponents.

Written on Butch Jones clean sweeps 'car wash':

Honestly if he wore Orange Paints I would think of the Past too. Maybe not until he establishes himself. I think checkerboard paints would be eye catching blah.

Written on Tennessee's football uniforms will have minor changes in 2013:

Personally some of the new uniforms I've seen in the past couple years are pretty awesome and I would like to know what our uniforms would look if we had them custom designed from a top designer. We might be pleasantly surprised. To the conservative fans that have worn the same cloths to the games for years. Sometimes Change is good. It kind of gets rid of the embarrassing Past.

Written on Tennessee continues recruiting surge with addition of Gaulden :

in response to UTSmokey04:

I coach with a guy who was with Coach Jones at Cincinnati. According to him, Coach Jones could care less what a guy is ranked on Rivals, Scout, ESPN or 24/7. The recruiting staff and admins use those websites just to get info (who, where, etc).

Arm chair recruit-niks can talk about stars all they want. Means zero in the business.

Totally agree; Remember years ago this was a no story cause we didn't have all the hype news stories making these kids stars in 'their own mind'. The publicity hungry kids yes kids take it serious but Coaches see thru it and know they are kids and take it with a grain of salt. Most recruits don't make it.
