overatedvol: Probably well before you were born there was a great rivaly between Louisville and Memphis. This never quite rose to the heights of the Cards vs Cincy, but the future of Memphis went down the tube with the Tiger's virtually held captive in a Conference that struggles to be more than a three school league. Beyond UAB and Houston, what'ch got? You best be grateful UT keeps you on the schedule or you would regularly sink below the radar one you entered conference play.

Memphis Misses 3 of 4 free throws allowing Kansas to escape into OVERTIME. I would have been all for Memphis just because they are a Tennessee school and it would have been nice to say Tennessee was the only team to whip the National Champs BUT the jerk from Memphis who kept polluting these boards took all the fun out of being for Memphis. Twist oh so slowly in the wind!

FROM 1UKSPORTS: A KY FAN POSTED:
"...the buzz is that Hopson is a lock and we may have a lead on a big guy. I believe its going to come down to the final day of the signing period for Hopson just like Patterson and Morris with the same result...."

ESPN finally said something I can agree with: "Low: Cards beat Vols at their own game" "Cards' stifling defense and high energy sap the Vols." Last night it wasn't simply that "the better team won," Tennessee was beaten last night by a great team that did better everything that Tennessee did best all year long to most every team Tennessee played: Exhausting relentless defensive pressue and wide open offense. Even the things Tennessee did exactly right, especially early on turning Louisville over, were not enough this game. Even with Louisville hitting free throws and going in Tennessee's face all night, Tennessee closed to within one point and....ran outta gas. Bigger, just as fast, dictating pace with relentless pressure and discipline, Louisville showed Tennessee just exactly what it was like for other teams all year long to play against Tennessee. They flat wore Tennessee out! Yes, the game was closer than the score indicated. Yes, the cards made Tennessee look worse than they actually were. But I believe Tennessee saw the future of Tennessee Basketball in Louisville last night. If you want to see that same winning style of play next year and the next year and the next, it will be it Knoxville...if Pearl stays. A healthy Louisville beats Tennessee this year. Sad, but not a suprise. Keep looking forward. Winning seasons are ahead! GO VOLS! Thank you Coach and Thank you seniors, and thank you team for a great great year!

Well, experience is what'ja get when ya' don't get what'ja wanted. Second foul on Chism way back in the first half turned this game. How many times has our bench been outscored? The pain of this is deepened by the fact that I really like Louisville against anybody but UT. I feel bad for the guys, Great season, tough draw. Damn, I love this team and the fight they are still putting up. kdt0725, what a lame comment. Tennessee started the second half like winners and I really thought we would be OK. Hope Pearl sticks around for a very long time. Tonight, we got beat by a team that was playin' like we did in Memphis. Best Ever Season! Thanks, Coach, Thanks, Seniors. Memphis, as the last Tennessee team I would probably be pullin' for you the rest of the way if not for the jerk of a "fan" that visited here. Are you really from memphis? What a poor represenative of a great med school. Only UCLA is as deserving of some bad breaks. Maybe Capreli will get an Indiana offer.
