What exactly had Phillip Fulmer done before this disastrous start? In 17 seasons, we have never consistently beaten Florida. Mark Richt has had our number more times than not. Fulmer is still afraid of Spurrier even though hes wearing an under armour sponsored gamecocks visor, which i used to think represented a less talented football team that tennessee, but that is no longer the case. Peyton Manning couldn't beat Florida or win a heisman here but he can become of the top five qb's of all time in the NFL. There's a reason Tennessee guys have so much success in the Pros. We have the talent, we just don't have the coaching! We never have! Fulmer recruited off the TENNESSEE brand and name, but now that's tainted, because of him, lesser talent is here...aka, Jonathan Crompton. This has become a basketball school, and as much as i hate that, atleast they have a good coach that has fire and confidence. The biggest headline of the florida weekend were two basketball recruits for two years from now. If Bruce pearl weren't here, the biggest headline would have been gas prices.

It takes around the same time to drive from Knoxville to Charlotte as it does from Chapel Hill to Charlotte. It is their home state though, so I get what you are saying to a degree. Unfair, it is not. UCLA has not played a game outside of the state of California (besides Final Four games) since 2005, yet noone says a word about that. The Tar Heels earned their path to San Antonio, just as a professional team fights for home court advantage throughout the playoffs. They still have to play the games.
