since uTc is part of the uT system, can we get some recruiting money kicked back to knoxville in exchange for the players? just asking.

sorry, cv, i couldn't stand the guilt when the sight of me in a tattered t-shirt causes you to do a brandon spikes on your own eyes!
Beer and ice run in the a.m., and this house is on lock-down by noon. hide the keys, give the dog a fresh bone, and test the remote...i'm good.

hey, doc. was in chatt for Christmas, and found (very basic) Vol t-shirts at dollar general for $7 each. i bought 3, for those "hulk/orgeron" moments that will surely consume me during the game.

you mean he should say something like "i'm not leaving bowling green.", or maybe "i'm not leaving utah.".
something like that?
all fans should appaud tim's effort to bring relief to draught-stricken north georgia. the blubbering was a little embarrasing on national tv, though.
congrats to the tide on a great game and yet another sec title. good luck in the rose, make us all proud. and thanks for giving us the lasting image of timmy's tears, i can't wait to see what lsu freek does with that!
Meyer said. "I got her".
Meyer: "I had her (Saban's wife)".
and they say kiff gives too much bulletin board material...

so they turn their backs on the kids they've been leading all season, and in 2 cases, for their entire time at uga? wtf?
get over yourselves, it's a business. turn it into a positive and give the kids a chance to compete in the game. will it be awkward? yes. will it be painful? undoubtedly. suck it up and show yourself to be more than pouting cowards.
the players who have laid it on the line all season and left it all on the field deserve better. quite sure all three coaches will be getting paid through the end of the season, but are not men enough to be leaders for the kids they are/were supposed to mentor.
wonder if phil took the same approach spurrior took in his last courtship with fla - "you shouldn't need to interview me, you know what i can do."
rofl
i wouldn't get too far out there, td. fla will drop a bit with the departure of tobow, spikes, et al, but the talent level in fla high schools is just sick. they will continue to recruit well, and i don't expect fla to drop out of the sece frontrunner race for a while.
having said that, the Vols will close the talent gap in the next two to three years, and i expect the Vols to be right at the top battling with them. just like old times...

"Officials recommend extension for Spurrier"
i'm not touchin' this one, lol...wonder what mrs. ss has to say about it?
to paraphrase art linkletter, "kids do the darnedest things."
seriously, who among us at age 20 (or so), didn't do something equally stupid and dangerous? i think urbie will deal out an appropriate punishment. bigger question might be how much will he fall in the nfl draft for his poor judgement? he was projected as an early first-rounder. this buzz possibly cost him millions. if he weren't so big, you'd want to just slap some sense into him, but i sure don't have the nerve to try that.
vq reporting aubarn to outback. go figure. hope we can eat more chik'n...
lsu under investigation, hmm...

not to nit-pick, dennis, but we were supposed to lose game 3 by a score of 63-3. didn't you write it down? we were told at least 600 times to "write it down",lol! good post.

call comcast, they can add it to your channels while you're on the phone with them, costs an additional $5 per month. then you can cancel next week, and only get charged for the one month. my family in chattanooga did it just for the past 3 games on espnu.

tiger's fine, his wife broke the window of the escalade with a golf club and got him out (seriously, that's the report from local tv stations). he was treated at the hospital and released "in good condition".
of course the news wags want to know why he's out at 2 am...sound familiar?
it will be nice after tim leaves florida, i think a lot of us really want to cheer for him. he's a class act, and sets a fine example. just tough to do while i'm wearing my Orange goggles and he's wearing his orange and blue.
i admit to poking fun and making jokes with his name on a sports message board, but applaud his service and selflessness (is that a word?), and wish him great success in life. right after he leaves florida, lol.
dudness sounds a lot like jcrown.

vq is reporting that jj, nuke, and mike had to appear before a student conduct board. jj was cleared, nuke and edwards have been dismissed from school, as well as from the team.
jacques should take along a couple dozen Vol caps for the other players to use during the commitment announcements that always follow the game.
congrats, jacques!
in response to mlsoft#228820: While I pretty much agree with the words Fulmer spoke, I do not remember him handling disciplinary situations very well, and that came back to haunt him later. Fulmer is a class act, but frankly I think it would be best if he just declined to comment on such situations under Coach Kiffin. mlsoft

phil was a class act in my mind until he was fired. he has been so bitter since, and comes across as sanctimonious and only tarnishes his own image. shame, really.

i don't think a civil liability judgement qualifies as a guilty verdict. a guilty verdict is what oj got after the las vegas over-the-hill-gang episode.
at least let's bring it to the level of apples to applesauce.

in response to asleep#212036: So Richardson and Edwards, both facing felony robbery charges with mandatory sentences, already kicked off the team, decide to let their "lookout" go because they are such nice guys and he has promise? That's what you believe? Who tampered with the video cameras, the CIA? What about the other witnesses, are they in on it too? And you really think a slick attorney could sweep that under the rug? You really think those other guys' defense attorneys would let Jackson slide as well? How about the girl in the car? You think she would cop to a drug charge just because she likes him so much? She was in a Master's program and with that conviction, likely set herself back a few years and several thousands of dollars in her career. And yet, JJ walks while the others take the fall for him. Not a chance. Even the most paranoid person couldn't make all that work. Some folks just can't stand it when they are wrong. The only thing he is guilty of is questionable companions at an inopportune time. Good thing you weren't following me around when I was in college! Probably good nobody was following you that closely either. Go Vols!!!

you didn't hear it from me, but i heard richard nixon was brought out of his cryogenically frozen state to orchestrate the cover-up. shhhhh...
in response to TNPilgrim: So many people are acting like this was his first infraction - it was not. It's pretty well know that he's had off-the-field problems all season, but since he's supposed to be the next Eric Berry he gets special treatment. Now he knows he can get away with most anything and that he's "special". Mark my words, this won't be the last time we see his name in the crime log instead of the sports page. Also keep in mind that the explanation we're reading has been dictated by the UT public relation dept. The big dogs came out to cover for this kid, and it creates a double standard that could poison the team chemistry.

as i opined earlier, the incident cost him game time and probably frosh aa honors. he needs to get the message that he's not special, but he has a chance to be if he toes the line. hopefully, this was his wake-up call.
i didn't bother to read any "explanation" from the pr spinners, i read the "quotations" of the district attorney.
my bad, jj missed 2 games. just seems longer since this nightmare started,
jj missed three games and it likely cost him freshman all-america honors. i think that's punishment enough. but as i said before, that's kiff's and hammie's call, and i'll support whatever they decide.
anybody have a good recipe for bar-b-cued wildcat?

in response to cumberlandVOL: if we want a program we can be proud of, i think we let him start coming to team activities and let him dress for UK but don't play him until the bowl game. I think if he plays in the UK game Kiffin might catch some flak for it. I think it's safe to let him start practicing again and hit the field in Tampa (hopefully).

i don't think kiff gives a rat's patooty about "flak". purely his and hamilton's call.
rofl at ochre's game-day prep! ladies and gentlemen, that is one real Volmaniac right there.
calvin smith, as quoted on vq:
"It was a good trip," Smith said about his weekend official visit to Rocky Top. "The game atmosphere was unbelievable. They are up there. I would say I'm leaning towards Tennessee."
and as misoft says, mickey is leaving, and they haven't names his replacement yet, so that could be a (negative for fsu) factor. i say we end up with smith, even if we miss on lemonier.
as great as Jon's football turnaround has been, i think he will experience an even bigger metamorphosis through his recent acceptance of his Savior.
thank you, Jon, and good luck!
Wes Brown is my hero.
kinda hard to see ahead while lookin' in the rear view mirror, ain't it, hook? those numbers are represenative of every bcs team. but here's a hint...if we, like everybody else, lose many recruits (for whatever reason), i'd rather be losing 4* and 5* recruits than 3*'s. this nsd will be special for kiff, pearl just stole his thunder momentarily.
2011 is the year we play our way back uptown.
