I hereby solemnly swear to never read another comment on this forum again.

The negativity, small mindness, male chauvinism, and ignorance have turned me so off that if I weren't a dyed in the wool Big Orange fan, I'd switch my allegience.

But as one who saw Doug Atkins play both football and basketball at UT, I've been around longer than you small-minded big-mouthed nay-sayers. And I'll be around after you are grow up and gone away.

I've got a degree from UT and a sticker on my car that says I'm proud to be a Tennessee Vol. Get a life, losers! You have a chance to be a part of the greatest university athletic progam in the nation, and forfeit it by your attitudes.

On Parker is second player to dunk in WNBA game

My father used to coach AAU women's basketball, back when it was six on six. He played on a state championship-caliber team at old Knoxville High and my mother was an all-state forward in Texas.

I've watched and respected women's basketball all my life, and still use a cross over dribble move my mother taught me.

"Chick hoops" is real basketball. John Wooden says it is the purest form of the game today, and that's good enough for me.

Could the WNBA teams beat an NBA team, or even a major college team? No way!

But if you limited the guys to the same height and weight as the gals, the ladies would clean their clocks!

Anybody who can't enjoy a WNBA game just doesn't know basketball.

I watched Travis play in high school at Frostproof, FLorida, and at UT and in the pros. I've followed Pittman's career at Tampa. (Yep, the old bear lives in the Florida swamps!)

While I deplore Travis Henry's recent behavior, I respect him as a player. If Pittman had his work ethic, he'd be All-Pro every year. Pittman never lived up to his potential with the Bucs, which is why the let him go.

Here's hoping that Travis hamstring heals, and that he mends his ways!

My best and worst memory of Bobby is buying the paper from him that had the story of Bill Majors and the other coaches being killed in the car/train wreck in West Knoxville.

Bobby was selling those papers on a weekday, which was rare, outside the Student Center. Tears were streaming down his face as he did so.

Thanks for the memories!

I hope Josh Boyd never sees this thread.

Not everybody has pay for view. I don't.
Not everybody has "the basic SEC" package.
I don't.
Not everybody has cable so that they can watch ESPN. I do.

And some people, including high school kids and old bears, are so busy working or working out that they don't watch a whole lot of sports on television.

Josh, if you do see this, please don't let the assumptions of some folks that you should know all about Tennessee football influence you negatively.

Check out the number of former Tennessee linemen on NFL rosters, and you'll discover that Tennessee is a great place for a guy your size (and mine, we're the same height and weight) to play. Going back to the greatest lineman in Tennessee and Chicago Bear history, Doug Atkins, Tennessee has turned out great defensive linemen.

I've got to wonder if BIlly G will be around to coach any of the players he's signed.

I thought it was ridiculous when coaches started recruiting my son when he was a sophomore in high school. They backed off after his grades dropped and he blew a knee. I wouldn't wish that on these kids...but...who knows what might happend between now and then.

Like Fulmer, I spend time on a ranch in Wyoming. The two horses I ride there (not both at the same time, mind you) are both Belgians. Please quit disrespecting my horses!

I watched Hal Wantland play, and had a couple of classes with him on "The Hill." He was as impressive in the class room as he was on the field, and as fine a representative of Tennessee tradition as anyone who ever wore the Orange.

Did anybody but me happen to notice that three of the other seven in this "shoot-out" are from teams that the Vols played this year? Says something about the quality of the competition
the Vols have faced all season long.

I hope Chris gets his stroke back and wins this one!

Before the Vols played tonight, I was watching Xavier beat WVU, and remembering that the Vols beat both those teams.

The season ended poorly. But it was a great season, the best in Vol basketball history.

You can second guess Coach Pearl, and criticize the players that didn't play up to their potential, and point fingers at the weaknesses, but this team still won more games than any other UT men's team, and lost fewer.

If Bruce Pearl goes to Indiana, I'll be surprised, and disappointed. But he's done a great job bringing the Vols out of the shadows and into the spotlight.

I don't see anybody off this team leaving early for the NBA. But I can see them back in the Sweet SIxteen next year.

If JP is the point guard of the future, he'll improve his turnover/assist ratio.

I still think Steve Pearl can be the next Dane Bradshaw. He had a couple of big rebounds tonight, and a good pass or two and if he did get beaten by a man going to the basket, he wasn't the only Vol that happened to tonight.

I live in FLorida, so I guess I'll have to cheer for the Gators in the NIT. But isn't it great that Ole Miss and Florida are in the NIT final four? And didn't the Vols beat them both?

I'd rather lose in the Sweet SIxteen of the BIg Show than be in the final four of the NIT any year.

Go Vols! I can't wait till next year!
