Okay, I hate to be the negative person on this forum, but hold the phone, folks. I realize that this QB is highly rated out of high school, and I realize this year he was only a freshman, but have you seen his numbers?
61 for 141 (43 percent) for 7 TDS and 5 INTS? Granted, 892 yards, but 97 from one bomb play?
He only played a good amount in three games this year, including in a 37-21 loss to Wisconsin, where he was 11 of 36 with 3 TDs and 2 INTs?
I'm not saying he's not good, he may be, and he may be the man under our offense. But I'm not ready to put him ahead of Crompton, Coleman or Stephens. In my opinion, from what I've heard, Nick Stephens will be the man anyway.
We certainly shouldn't hire two coaches just to get this QB. If we are hiring them based on their ability, great. But I'm not sure that Mallet won't be mediocre at best.

On Father: QB Mallett would consider UT if DeBord, Loeffler hired
