And the rich gets richer! Go Vols!
Simmons should ride the bench until she finally figures out what is a good shot and what is a bad shot.
in response to tovolny: Shannon would be here a year then...whoooppps, there he goes back to the NFL. Al WIlson is probably not ready for a DC position, but it seems like a "no brainer" that we should hire him as soon as possible. Al would spice up any coach's defense. I had this dream recently: Peyton Manning............HC Peyton Manning............OC John Chavis...............DC Al WIlson/Jack Reynolds...LBs Jabari Greer..............CBs Stanley Morgan............Receivers Alvin Harper..............TEs Willy Gault/Bill Bates....STs Scott Wells/Bob Johnson...O Line Tony Dorsett/J Graham.....RBs Bobby Scott...............QBs Fuad Reveiz...............Kickers Craig Colquett............Putters Phillip Fulmer............Recruiting Coord.

Jabari Greer doesn't even want to acknowledge that he went to Tennessee, how is he going to be a coach for Tennessee?
in response to carbonzip: How would this team be rated if Pearl was still here?

If Pearl was still here, there would have been a great chance that Tobias would still be here. Heck, even Scotty would have returned.
The future's so bright, you gotta wear shades!!!
in response to roobomb: I love the effort on defense. Melvin Goins is like a blanket out there. Tobias Harris may be the most composed freshman we've ever had. I think he is great for Scotty, because Scotty feels like he has to keep up with him. I think we'll do OK if they combine for 40 each game.

Tobias is one of the most composed Freshman we have ever had, but that title goes to Allan Houston.
I wonder if Kiah loves her visit and wants to commit on the spot, will Pat wait until Williams has her visit? And if Pat does wait, what will the perception be for Stokes as far as Tennessee wanting her?
This is a new era and we as Volunteer fans should embrace it. I also like the practice jerseys with the Addidas stipes on the side. Black jerseys would be cool. I think that grey jerseys would be cool too.
in response to Biggie: You gotta be kidding me? How about the Nations Finest White Coach or the Nations Finest Christian Coach. I'm all for UT and Coach Pearl but it just strikes me funny that we can have any kind of award as long as it isn't for white, christian males....

because all the other awards are mostly given to white males.
Mike,
You better hope that Connecticut blows out everyone. If they have a close gave, them will not know how to respond and may end up getting beat. The Lady Vols have been battle tested and would be up for the challenge. See you in the NCAAs!!!
Our point guard play will have to improve. Just an observation, but it seems that everytime that Michael Hubert gets on the floor he shoots the 3 very well. I think that maybe he should get some time on the floor. I know it is early and Michael has embraced his role on this team, but stil what could it hurt? Also, if you go back to last year, the first game played the Vols did everything right and look how the season ended up. Maybe this is a good sign and will be a final four team!
in response to memphis_vol_fan: Hardesty and Brown are lickin' their chops!!!!

Not just Hardesty and Brown. So are Oku and Poole. Hardesty and Brown will not play in the 4th quarter. It will be blow out city by that time.
in response to junder13: What's wrong w/ you people?!?!? Seriously?!?! This is a great article. It's talking about two completely different players on different paths and how their roles have reversed. Adams didn't do anything to contribute to how things have played out. He's simply reporting it. It's a great perspective. An unheralded walk-on who comes to UT to play the same position as the #1 recruit in the country 4 years ago and then is on the verge of starting his first collegiant game as a fifth-year senior! What remarkable perseverence! And you can't really tell the story w/o including the unfortunate (potentially tragic) injury-ridden career of McNeil--that #1 recruit who started 35 consecutive games and seemed destined to make it 47. It's a really great story for Sullins and very sad for McNeil but no one knows how it will end and it could change completely again later this season. Who knows. That's all he's saying. Chill out, nutjobs!

Well put Junder!!!
Stephens had a problem of really getting on his receivers last year. They were fighting on the sidelines. He was pulled from a game because of that reason. JC will probably get the starting nod just because the receivers would probably rally around him better. Hopefully Stephens learned something from that.
in response to YankeeVol: You know, I don't know why we have to have articles like this. It doesn't seem to do anything other than create pressure for an incoming freshman. To say she's 1 for 6 or 1 for 9 only creates an atmosphere where everything is microscopically analyzed. What is the follow-up story? Her lunch food choices, her cell phone minutes, the kind of shampoo she likes?

She needs for this to be published. This will be part of her life for as long as she continues to play basketball. We are still a very young team and we will need her to step up and not play like a freshman. That means not treating her like one as well. She has to learn to deal with the pressure.
The revenue that he is bringing in does not compare to his salary. He is being underpaid just because of that alone.
With that 6'8 girl coming in here. I hope that our post players are on their "A" game.
Scout.com has the top 100 in 2010 list posted. If you look on there under schools of interest, Tennessee, is on at least 40% of the prospects' lists. We are going to have a great recruiting season this year!
in response to 1manningfan: is the game on tuesday at 7:00 or tonight? thanks

We can preview the column that will be in the Sentinel tomorrow. The game is tomorrow.
Large university with strong history and loving fans seek a quarterback that can sustain a drive and stop over throwing receivers. Must love Orange!!!
We are playing with no heart. Those stupid penalties are killing us as they have all season.
in response to gavol2572: I have just got home to watch the game. Why did Stephens get pulled for throwing a pick? Was he playing that badly? Fulmer put up with Crompton's junk for almost half of the season and Stephens gets pulled for one int?

I think that he was jawing with the other offensive players. You could see them on the sidelines going at it with each other.
What class are you taking eVolution?
Good Luck Nikki!!! You will do great in LaLa land. Now we need to focus on getting Micki DeMoss back.
Uconnfan, it just shows how classless you really are. Just take the beat down that Rutgers gave you with some dignity, and shut up! Did Geno put you up to this???
