Written on Poll: Which position on Tennessee's offense are you most concerned about next season?:

in response to fronix5000:

No matter what, I'm excited for this team. Excited for Jones... I think we'll win a couple we weren't supposed to (for the first time since 09).

+1......I could't have said it any better myself!!! Love the positive thinking and like you, I wouldn't be too shocked if we knock off someone like Florida or South Carolinia!!!! Goooooo Voooooools!!!!!

Written on Vols' opponent Oregon expects NCAA ruling, penalties soon:

In looking at the picture above and after reading the title of this article, I'm thinking it would be great if the NCAA were to penalize the Ducks and hopefully, make a few of there players ineligable for our game!!! I knew this was going to be a great year for Tennessee (were heading back in the right direction) and then this news comes out....WOW! What's great is that it's not Tennessee making noise about violations, fights, and beer bottle throwing...it's Oregon! This is really funny the more I think about it. I would think that a team like the Ducks would learn from the beer bottle debockle of Tyler Bray last year. Oh well, stinks to be a Duck. Go Vols!!!!

Nice article Evan! Gooooo Vols! Makes you wonder why we don't recruit those big ole' boys up in the tundra known as Alaska? I understnad it's expensive to fly to Alaska but I'm telling you, I hear they've got some big ole' boys! I'm thinking it has to do with the same reason why so many players from the state of Hawaii are bie ole' boys too. Only difference is that the boys from Alaska get their workouts from shuvling snow while the boys from Hawaii get their muscles from swimming and fishing!!!Again, Go Vooooools!!!!!

Sure enough folks...I clicked on Evan's link to get a better idea as far as where our players hail from and as I thought...not one boy from Alaska or Hawaii? Oh well, maybe with time. I do think Coach Jones might be able to really recruit out West if we have a descent year too and of course, a bowl appearance wouldn't hurt! Go Vooools!

Man…can’t Saban just leave us alone? I admit hands-down that he is one heck of a coach/recruiter/etc….but seriously, is he trying to start trouble? Anyway, he just may regret any negative comments he says about UT. Gooooo Vooooools!!!

I am laser focused on bringing UT back to championship glory. I was dead on right with the ladysoftvols and am dead on right now. If you are not honest in your assessment, you have no chance to move forward toward the ultimate goal. That is of course if winning NC'S is your goal.

I think I can see where you are coming from? I'm just trying to stay as positive as possible and am "hoping" Coach Jones is leading the program in the right direction....FINALLY! Go Vols!!!

Written on Tennessee Vols look to youth:

in response to shiftb:

This will be the LEAST talented UT team to take the field in my lifetime thanks to you know who. We will have to be extremely fundamentally sound this year to compete since we have NO GAME CHANGERS on either side of the ball. I hope coach Jones knows what he is doing. Even then, i am not expecting too much.

Boy.....I bet you’re a blast to watch a football game with!!!!!Geeeeezzzzzzeeeeeee!!!!

Written on Tennessee RB Marlin Lane back with team :

Does anyone else believe Marlin is going to put up monster numbers this year? Folks, this could actually work out perfectly for our new QB’s! There is no doubt that we will have one of the best Offensive lines in the country. With that being the case, I have a feeling they’ll be able to open up some monster holes for Marlin to hit. If we can move the ball on the ground, this will ensure that the other teams defense plays our run closely and will give our young QB’s plenty of time in the pocket and open receivers. Yes, I know this sounds too good to be true and of course, we’ll have to wait until the season is actually here but really, know one ever really knows? I might be wrong but then again, I might be right? Who knows????Go Vols!!!!

Written on Tennessee Vols look to youth:

Yes…this is what I’ve been talking about all along. Instead of recruiting players that are afraid to play certain positions, Coach Jones has decided to recruit players that are eager to step up and fill a roll….something we desperately need this upcoming season. It’s hard to tell just from this article but I’m thinking that Coach Jones is more than just a coach to these young men. In fact, I’d say that he’s playing more of a fatherly roll which is something much needed to an incoming freshman. Folks, try to go back a few years and remember how intimidating it was your first week away from home (whether it be college, work, or just running away). To have no friends and just sit in your dorm room all alone was a complete debockle. Anyway, I too wanted to leave school and head back home to the comforts of my own bedroom, kitchen, etc. I know it’s way to early to see what kind of talent pool Coach Jones has on the field but as far as a human being, I give Coach Jones nothing but props. Heck, I wonder if Coach Jones would take me in as a son? Gooooooo Voooooools!

Written on 3 Vols named preseason All-Americans:

Still much work needed to be done but I'm so impressed wiht all that has transpired over the past several months, I'm about to make myself sick! I've said it many times that I do believe we are finally heading back in the right direction. YES, it is GREAT to be a Tennessee Vol!!! Sickening I'm telling ya, just sicking! Gooooo Vooooools!

Written on Josh Dobb's calls now will be with Tennessee Vols:

This is it baby…with it now almost being June, football time in Tennessee is getting closer by the day!!!! I am so excited about this upcoming season I could scream, spit, or both! Yes, I think a 6 and 6 season coming up would be wonderful and a bowl win would top it off. In the 2014 season, I’m expecting even bigger and better things. The way I see it, Coach Jones has come in with a roar and is kicking butt and taking names regarding recruiting. If we do go to a bowl game this year, imagine how the following recruiting class would take shape. Prospects would see that Coach Jones has turned the UT football ship around, players would be buying into the program, and better yet….who wouldn’t want to be a part of the Big Orange Nation with everyone seeing us make a rise yet again to the top!!!! Gooooo Vooooools!!!

Written on Mark Wiedmer: Butch Jones energizing Vols' big fan base :

I couldn't have said it better myself! Yes, we have a brutal schedule this year and honestly....6 and 6 would make me one happy fan! Who knows, I think we've even got a chance to knock off someone like South Carolinia this year? As you said, the tough times are behind us and I see nothing but brighter skies ahead! Go Vols!!!

I forgot to mention that while I do think we'll end up with a better record than last year (major swing games in November) I do have a feeling that we may end up getting blown out of more games this year than last. I'm not being negative...we need a huge 2014 recruiting class, work like heck this year, and EVERYONE support Coach Jones! I'm scared to death that after the Oregon and Florida game...folks who often post negativity on this board will be out in full force but everyone needs to remember, Coach Jones us undertaking a HUGE event trying to right this ship that has been wrong for sooooo long and FRIENDS, this will take time!!! Oh yeah, let's see if we can get 3 or 4 more verbals by the time the Orange and White game comes around. Go Vols and again....avaiod those pulled hammeys!

I too must admit that I’m extremely impressed with the way the Vols are coming along, both mentally and physically! Honestly, it’s been a long time since I’ve been this hopeful about what lies ahead for our Big Orange boys and CAN’T WAIT for next season to get here soon enough. Yes, I know we have a killer schedule ahead of us starting with the Ducks, and I for one, will be very interested in how we respond going into that game 2 and 0 (hopefully). On a side note, I heard a brief mention this morning on the Sports Animal about one of our commitments tweeting something around 7:30 AM today that Vol Nation should get ready for another big announcement tomorrow. I didn’t catch who sent the tweet out and am not really sure whom they were speaking but regardless, this is surely a breath of fresh air. How awesome would be if the Lady Vols win tonight getting us to the Final Four and then we get another huge commitment tomorrow! Boys…..it still may take another 2 years but I’ve finally got the feeling that we’re back! As always…..go Vols and watch out for the pulled hammeys!!!! It’s kind of tough practicing in the early morning hours this time of year as there is a lot of due on the grass!!!!

In looking at the photo above, I now really hope that Coach Jones is doing everything he can to prevent the pulled hammeys. If you look closely, I think that's due coming out from under his foot. Hey, never knew Coach Jones was the type of guy that didn't wear socks. I'd hate to smell his shoes after a 2 hour workout but hey, whatever works! GO VOLS and beware of the hammeys

Is there ANY chance the reason the South Pittsburgh High Coach resigned was to join Gruden's staff at UT or is this just wishfull thinking?

Wait a minute....I just thought of something. If we can't find someone that wants to come and coach UT, how in the world can we expect anyone to want to come and play for us!!!!! I firmly believe that whomever we hire, our program will now be set back at least 4 years. Wait a minute, would it be possible for us to go into next year without a head coach? If you think about it, it would save the university quite a bit of money and when we loose, I wouldn't have anyone to blame! Sounds pretty attractive if you ask me!

If we can't get Gruden, and we're not willing to take a chance on Petrino, Charlie Strong is the best candidate out there. But, there are others. It's clear that Strong is the best thing that's ever happened to Louisville, and they're not going to give him up without a fight.

marinevol, I'm telling ya....I word around the ole' ball field is that Strong was offered WAY too much to leave Louisville and I can't blame him. I thought Strong would be a good fit for UT but with that not going to happen, it's time for all of Vol Nation to support our new Coach Bobby Petrino! Go Vols!

second chances?? Petrino has left a brown paper poo bag on the porch of every job he has ever had. Sure he has won football games, but the man has no loyalty, no class, and no morals. I love UT, but, as a parent, I wouldnt want that scumbag in my living room recruiting my son. We had enough of a scumbag coaching staff with Kiffin and Co. I hope UT has more sense than to bring in Petrino.

mikec1000000, no disrespect to your post but don't you think EVERYONE is entitled to 2nd or 3rd changes in this game we call life. In your post you mention that you wouldn't like Petrino (you call him a scumbag) in your living room recruiting your son.....my question for you is what other schools have come to recruit your son in your living room? I wish him all the luck in the world but he's good enough to play at UT, someone else will pick him up. Go Vols and let's get Petrino in Knoxville NOW!!!!

Written on Tennessee coach search better than any roller coaster:

Article from Dixiefriedsports.com from last week. I'm not sure how I missed this article but it helps to solidify the reason for Hart taking his time. I wans't sure at first what to make of Dave Hart taking so long to come up with a new hire but this morning, I'm now convinced.....Dave Hart and Bobby are gonna lead us to the promise land! Go Coach B.P.

Tennessee- Attendance is way down, the Vols have a QB who can't stay out of trouble(even if it's minor), and Dooley isn't winning enough. The once proud UT program is now below South Carolina in the SEC East, something many thought would never happen. Unless things turn around, the Vols are likely looking for a new coach for 2013. Petrino would make an immediate impact in Knoxville and I believe would have Tennessee competing for a National Championship by year 3. UT is a much bigger name than any other school and has more resources than anyone else on this list, which means they could land a big name coach without having to go after someone with some baggage.

Written on Tennessee coach search better than any roller coaster:

I just now listed to a report on a station that said the decision from Bobby Petrino should be finalized today as Coach Strong preferes to stay in Louisville. I would like to have had Coach Strong but who can blame the guy when Louisville is willing to pay that amount of money being reported. Oh well, it may have taken longer than I liked for Hart to have made a selection but hey....looks like Santa has finally made his rounds to Knoxville and I for one, love my present! No returns this year!!! Go Vols and Go Petrino!!!! Bring us back from the ashes!

Written on Tennessee coach search better than any roller coaster:

Hey Vol fans...great news! Latest news round' the ole' ball field is that the reason has not made an announcement as to our new coach as of yet is because UT Officials are trying to nail down and finalize a deal with Bobby Petrino. I've been long saying that if we couldn't get Gruden (never really thought we'd have a chance) we needed to land Bobby Petrino. Yes, I realize that him rididng a motocycle with a chick on the back other than his wife or daughter were wrong but come on....I'm all for 2nd chances and hopefully he's learned his lesson. Not to mention, how cool would it be to pull up to an IHOP or other restraunt around town and see Petrino sitting on a cycle. Go Vols......let's get this done and bring on Coach B.P.! How funny, I just thought of his initials after typing them in this comment and they are the same as Bruce Pearl. Let's just really hope he's learned his moral lessons!!!! Go Vols!!!

Ok...now that it appears this Friday is NOT going to be the GREAT Friday I thought it was going to at 6:30 AM this morning, my question is who's next. Apparently, Hart waited too long playing around with Gruden and now, any other "big name" coach is spoken for. I'm wondering though.....Do any of you think Dave Hart wold consider hiring Coach Eric Taylor of the East Dillon Panthers. Coach Taylor led the Panthers to (I believe) 2 if not 3 Texas state championships on Friday night lights and I think the dude would look good in orange. With all that's transpired today, I know it's a long shot but for petes sake....let's not drop the ball on Coach Taylor! Go Vols and what a fricken joke!!! Glad all my buddies have been texting me today, reminding me how Dave Hart dropped the ball once again and that UT will be at the bottom of the barrel for the next 3-4 years and then we'll get to play this game all over again!

Heck, with the mens bball team playing on ESPN tonight....if UT announces the hire of Gruden, I'll get ripped tonight! P.S. Today, I'm on another bandwagon of sorts...what does anyone think about Al Golden possibly coming to UT from the U? I've read allot this morning that leads me to believe Golden has an interview with Dave Hart today and wasn't sure what to think right off the bat. After doing some research on Golden, I'm actually thinking he might be the "home run" I've been waiting for. Yes, Gruden would be a great "flash" right away and would really jump start our recruitng program but honestly.....everything I've read this morning abut Golden says he wold be an awesome fit.
