Orange camo! That would look cool. But seriously 'The Look' is very attractive to these young kids nowadays. Look how Oregon won over a lot of California recruits.

Written on UPDATED: Cuonzo Martin to receive $50,000 raise:

I think this is great news for Coach Martin. Something tells me that Coach Martin is going to advance this team pretty deap in the Big Dance and wouldn't be surprised if we don't find outselves in the final 8. In my opinion, I think Coach Martin's salary increase is much overdue. If I remember correctly, when Coach Martin was brought to Tennessee he was operating under something called a Memorandum of Understanding for a little over a year. I don't know about anyone else but there is no way I could go 3 months, much less a year wthout being paid by my employer. Not only should we all be fortunate that Coach Martin's wife makes enough for them to be able to take the year hit without pay, but even more fortunate that he didn't get fed up and leave for another program that could pay him. Anyway, congratulations Coach Martin and best of luck this winter. Can't wait to see how far you can take our ball team! Go Vooooools!!!

WOW…for this only being July, who’d u thunk it? I admit that I was “hopefully” optimistic when UT announced the hiring of CBJ but man o’ man, he has simply impressed the heck out of me! Again, we haven’t had the opportunity to watch him coach one play to this point but what he has been allowed to do at this point in time has blown me away! I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that CBJ doesn’t say something stupid at media days like “the SEC isn’t going to be able to kick Tennessee around anymore”! I liked the way Coach Dooley sounded when he spoke and even liked the way he dressed (always professional) and even thought his wife was hot but when it came to his coaching….different story! I have a crazy feeling that looking back 10 years from now, Coach Jones is going to realize that what he was able to accomplish at Tennessee was truly amazing and will probably never be duplicated. I’m just hoping that after Coach Jones brings us back in the spotlight, he doesn’t jump ship to head for the NFL. Anyway, go Vols and it’s getting closer and closer to football time in Tennessee! Oh yeah, one question, has anyone seen Coach Jones wife and if so, is she hot? Think I’m going to google her right now and hopefully report back later. I’m out!

Ok my good Vol fans, ole’ Mater Soup did some savey internet searching and the results are in, CBJ’s wife (Barb) is pretty cute! Go Vols and Go Barb!

Written on Vols getting in gear: Worley to Manning QB camp:

This is exactly what I like to hear and can’t wait until it’s kickoff time in Tennessee. Not only is Justin Worley helping the community by becoming involved in something like a camp, I have a feeling that when all the campers go home for the day, the spotlight will shift to Payton and Eli working with Justin. With no helicopters flying overhead to record Payton and Eli coaching Worley up, these three can focus on helping Coach Jones bringing back the football program to its days of glory!!! Another thing to consider (regardless whom our starting QB will turn out to be) is that we “should” have one of the most solid offensive lines not only in the SEC, but in the country! Have such a stong O’line should provide plenty of protection for our young QB’s which is HUUUUUGE! If somehow we can develop a strong run game and protect our young QB(s), I think everything will turn out just right for Coach Jones in his first year! Man am I excited and I ever mentioned…….It’s great to be a Tennessee Vooooool!!!!!

in response to StoneJackBaller:

Blank stare

I wasn’t saying that Coach Jones was leaving within the next two or three years to go coach in the NBA, it just makes me wonder why he is getting more and more involved with basketball. Word around campus is that Coach Jones is great friends with UT’s basketball Coach Martin and I am just praying that he doesn’t get temped to coach another sport like basketball or track and field? I think Coach Jones is THE guy to finally turn around our football program and with all of his success thus far, I’m fearful that other sports may want him to do the same thing. I would not mind if Coach Jones coached another sport at UT in addition to football, just don’t want him leaving our program anytime in the near future! GOOOOOO Vols!!!

Written on Butch Jones plans to be in Miami for Game 7 of NBA Finals to cheer on Heat, Erik Spoelstra:

While I'm not really a Miami Heat fan, I think it would be cool if Coach Spoelsta could come to Knoxville the week we play Alabama and pump up our guys. It does raise the question that once Coach Jones is done with coaching college football, will he coach in the NBA? Using plain logic, I would say no BUT....why in the world would he be doing more and more stuff with the NBA. Also makes you wonder if he might call a few plays this evening too with all the pressure of a game 7. If I were coach in a game 7, I'd appreciate a buddy of mine calling a play or two! Anyway....go VOLS and let's hope we can keep Coach Jones around for a few years before leaving for basketball!!!

Written on Vols' opponent Oregon expects NCAA ruling, penalties soon:

In looking at the picture above and after reading the title of this article, I'm thinking it would be great if the NCAA were to penalize the Ducks and hopefully, make a few of there players ineligable for our game!!! I knew this was going to be a great year for Tennessee (were heading back in the right direction) and then this news comes out....WOW! What's great is that it's not Tennessee making noise about violations, fights, and beer bottle throwing...it's Oregon! This is really funny the more I think about it. I would think that a team like the Ducks would learn from the beer bottle debockle of Tyler Bray last year. Oh well, stinks to be a Duck. Go Vols!!!!

Nice article Evan! Gooooo Vols! Makes you wonder why we don't recruit those big ole' boys up in the tundra known as Alaska? Only difference is that the boys from Alaska get their workouts from shuvling snow while the boys from Hawaii get their muscles from swimming and fishing!!!Again, Go Vooooools!!!!!

Sure enough folks...I clicked on Evan's link to get a better idea as far as where our players hail from and as I thought...not one boy from Alaska or Hawaii? Oh well, maybe with time. I do think Coach Jones might be able to really recruit out West if we have a descent year too and of course, a bowl appearance wouldn't hurt! Go Vooools!

Written on Tennessee RB Marlin Lane back with team :

Does anyone else believe Marlin is going to put up monster numbers this year? Folks, this could actually work out perfectly for our new QB’s! There is no doubt that we will have one of the best Offensive lines in the country. With that being the case, I have a feeling they’ll be able to open up some monster holes for Marlin to hit. If we can move the ball on the ground, this will ensure that the other teams defense plays our run closely and will give our young QB’s plenty of time in the pocket and open receivers. Yes, I know this sounds too good to be true and of course, we’ll have to wait until the season is actually here but really, know one ever really knows? I might be wrong but then again, I might be right? Who knows????Go Vols!!!!

Written on Tennessee Vols look to youth:

Yes…this is what I’ve been talking about all along. Instead of recruiting players that are afraid to play certain positions, Coach Jones has decided to recruit players that are eager to step up and fill a roll….something we desperately need this upcoming season. It’s hard to tell just from this article but I’m thinking that Coach Jones is more than just a coach to these young men. In fact, I’d say that he’s playing more of a fatherly roll which is something much needed to an incoming freshman. Folks, try to go back a few years and remember how intimidating it was your first week away from home (whether it be college, work, or just running away). To have no friends and just sit in your dorm room all alone was a complete debockle. Anyway, I too wanted to leave school and head back home to the comforts of my own bedroom, kitchen, etc. I know it’s way to early to see what kind of talent pool Coach Jones has on the field but as far as a human being, I give Coach Jones nothing but props. Heck, I wonder if Coach Jones would take me in as a son? Gooooooo Voooooools!

This is it baby…with it now almost being June, football time in Tennessee is getting closer by the day!!!! I am so excited about this upcoming season I could scream, spit, or both! Yes, I think a 6 and 6 season coming up would be wonderful and a bowl win would top it off. In the 2014 season, I’m expecting even bigger and better things. The way I see it, Coach Jones has come in with a roar and is kicking butt and taking names regarding recruiting. If we do go to a bowl game this year, imagine how the following recruiting class would take shape. Prospects would see that Coach Jones has turned the UT football ship around, players would be buying into the program, and better yet….who wouldn’t want to be a part of the Big Orange Nation with everyone seeing us make a rise yet again to the top!!!! Gooooo Vooooools!!!
