Dooley had much better players tha Jones. As for beating him like a drum, I was there and the game was close until the second half.
Nothing wrong with being a little apprehensive about our team; my point is that Coach Jones has been a very positive affect on the team so far so why not be positive?

No, actually Coach Saban can take a look at a players abilities and talent and find a position where the player can be successful at the D-1 level. Players switch positions often when they jump to the next level. Not saying Hurd won't do well at Running Back what I am saying is a winner wants to be on the field playing for the best teams. Hurd appears to be in love with himself and all the glory of playing running back even though he does not fit the mold or have the body. I will take Saban's assessment over Hurd's mother.

Don't disagree with you on those points. All i'm saying is when all a team can do is pass, good teams can adjust to that. We had no running game or defense. Bray had really good games against Ga, SC and Missou so to say HE couldn't beat SEC teams is off base. With a marginal defense, we could have easily won 8 or nine games last year. When the season starts, I think many will be wishing Bray was still here.

Say what you will about Bray but come this fall, I think most will be wishing he was back. It's true he did some childish things and wasn't very mature but not many 20 year old guys are. I'd wager most of you griping on here probably did way worse when you were that age. TB was the only reason we've had a chance to win any games for the past couple of years and if you don't believe that, you obviously wasn't watching. Good luck to him and hope he gets his head on straight and has a good career.

We are third due to numbers, but based on *star quality we are probably 15-20th. Still very encouraged by the work and possibilities of more quality additions that will actually sign papers with VOLS next February.

The last time I was in needless stadium was two seasons ago for the Kentucky game. I happened to have some connections so I scored very good seats right in the middle of the Vol people. I of course was wearing Blue. One of the Vol fans kept asking me:

etc. etc.

I finally got tired of her big nosed questions so I turned to her and her husband and said.

UT fans realize they aren't going to beat Florida, Oregon, USC or Bama, but if they can sneak one out against Georgia, beat Mizzou, Kentucky, Auburn and Vandy, and win their 3 winnable OOC games, they are a bowl game away from a 9-4 season, and if that happens, they have evidence they can give to recruits that they are "back". And that's what they are hoping for.

(Personally, I don't think they win more than 1 SEC game this year, but then, I'm not a Vol fan.)

It's a wonder kids learn anything from adults this day and age. Reading some of the negative post on here may be part of it. Remember you're not these kids parents. They come to Tennessee thinking that they are the greatest thing since sliced bread and then the pressures to perform are thrown at them. Some of you act as if you never made mistakes in your lives.
