Dude, calm down. Just because your toddler flipped over on his back and kicked his feet in the pool and you've got video to prove it doesn't mean he's gonna be ready to swim the English Channel by the time he's four. I'm hopeful too, but let's keep it a little bit real. We've had six (6) practices since we lost to Vanderbilt.

You sir are absolutly correct... But in my defense, I pride my life on knowing football... I didnt have the goose bumps at all with Dooley, and after watchin the vol walk durin orange and white game some odd years back, I knew Kiffin was just using us and knew he wouldnt last long... I feel a spark about this coach that I hadnt felt in a LOOOOOONG time... Butch has just got me fired up this season and seein as I live in Mizzou right now, I only get a chance to vent my feelins here about how I feel about Tennessee sports... Up here all they talk about is Cardinals baseball... Sorry if I came across strong, but those are my feelins and I will share them until the day I die and aint no one gonna stop me unless they kill me... Bold statements have been made by me, but I not only believe em, but I stand firmly by them...

Written on Focus for Tennessee quarterbacks is leadership, avoiding interceptions:

Butch is goin to turn some heads this season... Next season people will expect Tennessee to dominate and they won't be able to stop it... And by his third and fourth years here, we will be the contendin for a National Championship... Butch Jones proclaimed the storm cloud is no longer over Knoxvegas... I believe!!! Oh yeah... Also... First!!

I wonder how much you know about football bein a Kentucky fan and all... Just so you know(here I go showin you up again), Nick Saban and Les Miles BOTH offered an 8th grade, the same one mind you, a scholarship to play football at their respected University... It's okay man... Some people just weren't made to smack talk... I, again, look forward to your next post...

Written on Tennessee left in the hands of the committee, but Cuonzo Martin thinks his team deserves to be in:

in response to SevenT:

If one thinks Tennessee is in you are living in Homerville and not the real world.

Florida, Ole Miss, Missouri, Alabama and possibly Kentucky.....Kentucky could very easily be left behind due to their poor showing in the tournament.

Tennessee?? forget it be happy with the NIT

Your basketball knowledge is so insightful... Anyone with half a brain knew Ole Miss, Florida and Mizzou would make the big dance... My shot at you is more about the other two picks you made, neither of which made the big dance... How you could put Alabama and Kentucky in the conversation to make the big dance without mentionin Tennessee just shows your lack of a basketball IQ... Tennessee's RPI was better than Kentucky's... Tennessee W/L against RPI top 50 is better than Kentucky's... Oh and let's not forget, the last time these two met head to head, Tennessee won... So other than you being a regular dumbash Kentucky fan, why would you think Kentucky even deserves to be in the 'big dance' talk and Tennessee doesn't??? Gahhh you make this way to easy... Thank you... Look forward to your future posts...

The fact that someone made a smartash comment to your first childish post, orrrrrrrr the fact that it's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more childish to be postin on a website that you have no affliation with??? Wouldn't Saban have to be speakin in Knoxville to make your examples true??? I bet Pat never went to UConn to speak at a lucheon, but I'd put money she would have at least be invite to some community outside of Bridgeport, to speak about life no less...

And yet, Butch Jones took those players and turned them into winners, and more importantly, champions... When will people learn that winning starts with the coaches... Welcome to Tennesse Coach Jones...

Written on Mark Wiedmer: Dooley perfect fit for Dallas:

in response to FanNotSheep:

It will be funny if Dooley one day lands a better situation and actually becomes a successful head coach. I doubt it will happen unless he learns to delegate responsibility and changes his approach to handling the media.

But fans have no clue about coaching a major college football team, yet so many condemned him before he ever had a decent roster to work with.

Imagine if the Colts had treated Peyton the way UT fans treated Dooley. Think he would have been around after that 2-14 season with all those interceptions? Just think, no Pro Bowls, no MVPs no Super Bowl ring for a future Hall of Fame QB who is re-writing all the record books, coming back from a potentially crippling injury and replacing Johnny Unitas as the icon of the NFL.

I'm not saying Dooley could ever be a great coach. I am saying a great coach could have been at the helm of the UT football program that he inherited and no one would know. Just like no one knew Manning could be what he is today when he was running for his life and trying to make the leap to the hardest league in football with a horrible team.

Okay, so your post here is so ignorant, I'm not really sure where to start first... Okay, got it... They were 3-13 Peyton's rookie year... Good icebreaker... Now while Peyton and the Colts established the Derek Dooley kinda record, Peyton broke 5 qb rookie records, so if the fans woulda boo'd him out of Indy, then they would know less about football then all Kentucky fans... If Derek Dooley would have broken any records, ya know other than the whole worst coach in Tennessee history, I believe our fans might have been a little bit more accepting... Next, and in my opinion more importantly, if you didn't know Peyton Manning was a star from the get-go, you should really concider posting your football 'wisdom' on the Kentucky football message boards... They might buy it... The first time I saw Peyton Manning playin football, mind you I was 8 at the time, I knew that he was going to be great for many years to come... Of course, I watched football and knew the sport at the time... Honestly, if you couldn't see that Peyton was going to be a football phenom, you know nothing about the sport I love... You really art not post things you know nothing about... 'It's better to remain silent, and be thought of as a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt.' -Abe Lincoln

you are talking about the exceptions...not the rule. sure, there will be outliers when looking at every player's star rating and success on the field.

but what do i know, right? you know everything. we should all bow down to your knowledge.

Never once said I knew everything... But thanks for the compliment... As far as the comment goes, I was just stating facts to disprove you and show people you know much to little about recruiting than you'd like to think... I believe I was able to do that... I bet you wouldnt have wanted Manziel because he was a 3 star huh...

Written on Tennessee walk-ons Derrick Brodus, Tyler Drummer, Dylan West receive scholarships :

in response to Rumblefish:

That's a nice sentiment and all...but facts are facts---The only things these kids have done on the field on gameday have been marginal at best. Almost non-exhistent.

I get what you're saying about the "star factor". But, signing more and more players with good ratings increases your chances of having an outstanding team. Signing kids with poor/average ratings increases your chances of having a poor/average team.

Right... Stars are a huge factory in success on the college football field... Johnny Manziel was a three star coming out of high school... You sir no nothing about recruiting, nor what it takes to be successful on a football field(if you think stars have ANYTHING to do with success). As much as I hate to bring up Notre Dumb, their quarterback was a three star recruit coming out of high school... Some beach lead Notre Dumb to a National Championship Game... You sir should really consider doing ANYTHING other than tryin to talk college football in your free time... Like, anything...

He absolutely should have been fired after the Kentucky game last year. We went the whole season and the team got better at nothing ! One whole season wasted. Yet people get on here and say stupid stuff like if he hadn`t changed the defence we could be 9 and 3. Yea and we would still have a idiot for a head coach !

Is it ironic you say people post 'stupid stuff' and misspell defence(it's defense by the way) in the same sentence? I'm not at all arguing your post because I'm one million percent behind the idea of gettin rid of Dooley after the kentucky loss last season

Written on Dallas Thomas invited to Senior Bowl :

Maybe it's just me, but I think that Dooley had a sence of, 'Let's bring these high powered Juco stars, tell em they'll get on ESPN, and we'll get you drafted... Oh and don't worry about that whole class thing'... Then, Coach Butch Jones, comes in with all this 'Win in life, you'll win on the field'....(what a loser... Gah we shoulda gotten Gruden), and the players from Hutchinson Community College just want to win a high draft pick. I may very well be completely incorrect, and I hope that wouldn't be the way Fooley would recruit, but, in my defense, I only have one other player from Fooley's recruiting to go off of... And just so you know, I am just referring to the Hutchinson C.C. Just sayin'

And now you are stupid enough to come on here and trash Coach Jones because of his lack of experience? A guy with 4 champioships in the last 6 years? Your guy hasn't even been a coach ANYWHERE for the past six years!

We've listened to your crapola about Kiffin, Dooley, Hamilton, Hart, Cheeks, the ticket takers, the popcorn vendors and now in your infinite wisdom you attack Coach Jones? And you call yourself a Vol fan?
