Fair enough question. My answer is a question for you.

What positives are there to comment on regarding the Vols?

They can beat Kentucky in basketball.Actually blew them out of the gym.Listening to you cry about it was a positive.

Joe Paterno? You have got to be kidding me. Had he not been forced out, Penn State would be facing chants of "Child Molester U" everywhere they went. Bowden was way past retirement age. Fulmer is the same age as Saban.

I thought you were going to ignore me? With this last pitiful attempt to best me, you should have kept your vow. When you try to compete you look even worse than you did when you chose to sit it out.

The flaw in your argument is Fulmer wasn't coaching on the level of Saban even though they are close in age.If he had been he would still be coaching the Vols.If he was still a great coach someone else would have hired him.If Saban starts producing like Fulmer in his latter years he will be gone from Bama.Your stupid as ever.

Still, he was forced out because the alumni chose Rupp over Bryant. No difference and proves my point that Toddy claimed UT was the only program to force out a NC winning coach. Wasn't Joe B Hall forced out, as was Tubby Smith at UK?? You really need to mind your own backyard.

If ky. BB has another season like last season it will be by by Cal.Ole seven teeth was half right at the start of the season when he said a banner would be raised. It was raised in Ky.alright but in Louisville Ky.The Big Red is king in Kentucky and this is not sitting well in blue land.

Yes, Coach Jones, they're behind you in just the same way that they were behind a top coach who took them to new heights not witnessed in half a century. Behind you in the same way that in showing so much patience to that HOF national championship coach that they handed Alabama an automatic win each 3rd Saturday, guaranteed the tenure of Richt, cemented Spurrier's legend at S.C, and best of all, handed James Franklin the keys to the Volunteer State Kingdom. I know I'm very grateful for all the backing they give and patience they display. I'm sure that Ga., Al., and S.C. fans are too.

Your still stupid as ever.Tennessee has the best players in the state committed to them and franklin begging just to talk to them.By the way Louisville just handed the commode doors a loss.

I'm not trying to hate on Union, but I've lived in Tennessee my whole life. I have no idea where Union University is physically located. I know of one graduate from the school. IMO, Union University is not a school that would open more doors than UTK.
I don't mean to disparage Union, but I stand by my original comments.

Union University is located in Jackson. It over the years has been growing at a rapid pace.Their faculty have been recognized many times as one of the best in the nation.Average scores will not get you in.This past freshman class ACT average was one of the highest in the nation.Union is recognized as one of the top schools in the nation.I understand what you are saying about opening doors.I guess that would depend on the major.Example would be that they have one of the best nursing schools and Pre-Med.They have an acclaimed business school and a top music dept.Students from around the country line up for these spots. It is quite expensive to go there.Tennessee has many majors that would be better to have from there.Just saying Union is not a second rate school, they are one of the best the nation and have the awards to prove it.

By just glancing at Forbes formula, there are obvious flaws. Namely the cost they assign to attending the University, which I then believe they weigh against the average projected earnings. The costs versus the projections are out of whack. You can take their opinion for the gospel all you want, but if you think attending Union University is setting yourself up for a better stage for success in life, I have some beach front property in Oklahoma I'd like to sell you.
The problem with a person such as yourself, is you have already decided your opinion before obtaining information from each side of the equation. For instance, did you take into consideration the current students attending the University of Tennessee are the most academically qualified in the history of the institution? Did you know when the average ACT test score for a new UT student began to correlate with that of a new student at Sewanee, then The University of the South began declining ACT scores? Interesting they rank so highly on Forbes flawed list.
Finally, if you would like a true barometer of where the University of Tennessee stands, please see a highly accepted metric as performed by U.S. News. Certainly there is work to be done, but the University is improving. Like it or not.

Viva la Hart
GO Vols

While I can agree with most of your comments you would be wrong about Union University.Their academics outstanding and average ACT scores on freshmen entering is tops. They recently were named the 2nd best university in the south. Not to shabby. In other words not just anyone can get in.Yes they are a very good school.A diploma from Union will open doors ahead of others.

The self proclaimed truth squad is back. You can't see the truth when it is so obvious. Bray did not even get so much as a smell of being drafted while you said he was the most talented QB.Now you keep wanting to talk about Dooley. How many QBs were taken smart one? How many QBs were taken that you never head of? The QB from Sister Mary's School of the Blind got drafted but did Tyler Bray?Profesionals from 32 teams saw what Gruden saw and what we knew and said no thanks. As I said before it takes a lot more than a good arm to play in the NFL and Bray doesn't have it.You remind me of a guy I know that when we were little, when he was proved wrong would put his hands over his ears and would go na na na na na na na na na na then run away so he didn't have to hear the truth. You make up your truth but the experts that get paid to scout these players agree with what I have said and many posters on here.My point being you come on here this morning not wanting to talk about Bray getting snubbed but wanting to talk about Dooley.Well if we again look to the pros they say Dooley is better at what he does than Bray at what he does.Dooley has a job.Bray is begging for one getting just expenses paid. That is the truth plain and simple witnessed by everyone.

Written on Tyler Bray shut out at NFL draft, but Mychal Rivera lands with home-state team:

in response to Give_Him_6_Holloway:

To those who recommended that Bray stay for his senior year, don't understand football. He is a pro set, stand in the pocket, and wing it kid. Our new offense would mean the death of him. He had no choice.

I hope the kid grows up and becomes highly successful. GBO!!!

I think it was the death of him today.I understand what you are saying but he defiantly was not ready for the NFL.Coach Jones said the offense would be tailored for the personnel when he came. When Bray entered the draft talk changed to a quicker spread type offense. If he had stayed it would have been different than what we have seen.

Written on Vols tight end Mychal Rivera drafted by Oakland Raiders:

in response to GloryDays:

Are you so simple to think Bray is a 1st round pick because he is tall and has a big arm? Not winning big games is only part of it. Bray has no mobility, no leadership skills, a questionable work ethic, immaturity and a bad self centered attitude. I am not surprised he didn't get drafted. This might be the best thing that has ever happened to him.

You are correct. On his mobility he ran like a wounded duck.

Written on Tyler Bray shut out at NFL draft, but Mychal Rivera lands with home-state team:

I never said Bray would be a first rounder; more likely 3rd. As someone else suggested, the knife went in to Mr. Bray for some reason. Something behind the scenes bit him in the butt.

Now, what the NFL might have done, and what I might do if I saw Tyler Bray are two different things.

If I saw Bray I would tell him - "Get off of my yard."

No you do not get it. If Bray was as good as you said he would have been drafted. You call yourself the truth squad but you can not accept it.Paid professionals from 32 teams said he was not good enough. Those incredible numbers were put up against weak teams. When we played a top team he was nothing. Also keep in mind he had some top receivers and people in the stands got as many balls thown to them because he could not make the right read.At least Dooley has a job and Bray does not.Face it you were wrong. Now that is the truth.

I saw Mike Tomlins interview after they took Landry Jones in the 5th and he said they wanted a quarterback with smarts and a good football IQ.They liked his work ethic.Well bud that counts Bray out.Bray has a good arm but that is it.Again it takes more than a good arm to make it in the NFL.The rumor is that Gruden said he had seen 12 year olds in camps that could read defenses better than Bray.He was the only QB who Gruden had to tell and do his diagrams for him.I was embarrassed to watch a Tennessee player look so dumb. This fiasco was created by Bray alone. You can't blame it on Dooley.Bray would spend no time in the film room ,he played video games instead. You call yourself the truth squad, well the truth was told when the draft was completed so wake up and smell the coffee.

Written on Tyler Bray shut out at NFL draft, but Mychal Rivera lands with home-state team:

Where oh where is Walt.Ole Walt said Bray was a first rounder. When I said he would be a 3rd or lower he went on many rants and in those rants I was called stupid, ignorant,a moron, imbecile, and had absolutely no football knowledge.Walt said Bray would be burning it up on Sundays.Well smart one, come talk to me now.You said on draft day I would not be here because Bray would be the first quarterback taken and I would be too embarrassed.I think we know about your football IQ and talent scouting.I guess Ron White is right. You can't fix stupid.

Written on UT's Dallas Thomas picked by Miami Dolphins in NFL draft:

in response to OwensboroVol:

Looks like Bray made a terrible mistake leaving early. I don't think that He is going to be drafted at all and will have to sign a free agent contract which usually leads to no where. He could have come back for his senior year and showed the Pros that he was serious about doing the required work, but, as usual, he took the easy way and it backfired!

Someone will sign him to a practice squad or he will go to Canada. When practice starts and work begins he will not be able to handle it.They do not pay you to play video games. This time next year he will have been forgotten.

Written on Vols tight end Mychal Rivera drafted by Oakland Raiders:

Bray had a good arm and that was it.His best games were against weak teams, against top teams he did not have a clue.As I said before you have to have a brain and be a quick thinker to play in the NFL,Bray was way short in that regard.I had him going in the 5th if a team wanted to take a chance.Guess their were no gamblers.

Written on Poll: What round will Tyler Bray be drafted in?:

The Steelers did not believe that. They took Landry Jones in the 5th.Looks like Bray will be bringing up the rear.It does not look like the pros shared your enthusiasm.

Written on Grilled by Jon Gruden, UT's Tyler Bray says he needs to improve preparation in NFL:

in response to jhncpps1:

One thing to remember is that Bray is just 21 years old. How many people on this board were completely matured at 21 years old. If he wants to be successful in the NFL, he will be. He has to improve that mental preparation. If he can do that, he'll be a successful QB in the NFL because he has the talent for sure.

NFL teams do not gamble with high picks and millions of dollars on a hope that someone will grow up.Bray never showed that he has matured beyond middle school. Also the NFL will require that you can read basic defenses which he can not as Gruden pointed out.Bray has the arm but little else.If a team has their needs met they might take a chance but it would be with a mid to late round pick.My guess is where ever he goes he won't last long.As a quarterback you must be a leader and he is not that either. What a waste of talent.

I think that from what I have seen and heard Bray would be fortunate to go in the 3rd round. The NFL network had him the 6th qb taken.ESPN rarely even mentions him and if they do he is called a gamble or a project. He looked clueless with Gruden.Mid to late rounds would be my guess if someone has their needs filled and had a pick to gamble with.

You know, Gruden's a great guy, but I'm not sure he could build a program at UT..CBJ is here to stay in my opinion because he knows what it takes to be successful.
