Reread the first sentence, "...because of its impact on fans and high schools." He is aware that many fans have kids in band or on the hs football team, that a Friday night game is an inconvenience for some good fans/folk... Being sensitive to the people who follow both high school and UT is not an "excuse." It is not even about his team or the players at all.

Corrected, but Dooley lost my respect following the Ky game where he blamed the kids for the loss.It took him weeks to place the blame on the coaches staff, where it should have been from day1.
