MY question for those who know more than I do, can the new coach that we hire take away or not renew scholarships for players that, in his opinion, are not giving their all for Tennessee? If he can, does that open up new scholarship for him to give out or do we just lose those scholarships? Again looking at the effort of some of our young men yesterday it is going to take more than a coaching change to improve the Volunteers.

If you know the answer please enlighten the rest of us. I think a lot of people would like to know since the train crash of a foootball game yesterday.

Question? Fulmer is going to get his 6 million buyout over the next 48 months for the contract that is already in place. Is Fulmer going to be given a job in the athletic department at Tennessee? Most news outlets say yes. If so, is he going to be paid a salary for that position as well as getting his buyout deal? Just want to know!!!

I live in Middle Tennessee and went to the game yesterday. My first game of this year. Usually go to 3 or 4 games a year. Went yesterday to support our players! What I ended up seeing was the pooriest effort from ANY TENNESSEE football team in my entire life.

"Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton was mum about the coach's job security after the game, saying he declined comment out of respect for Fulmer."
That statement speaks volumes right there. "he declined comment out of respect for Fulmer"

WHERE IS THE ATHLETIC DIRECTORS RESPECT FOR THE TENNESSEE FOOTBALL PROGRAM? Is Mike Hamilton's only responsibility to Coach Fulmer or was he employed to represent the wishes of THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE!!!

WHERE WAS MIKE hAMILTON'S RESPECT FOR THE THOUSANDS OF TENNESSEE FANS WHO TRAVEL HUNDREDS OF MILES SEVERALS WEEKS OF THE YEAR, SPEND THE NIGHT IN KNOXVILLE, SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN KNOXVILLE EVERY FOOTBALL WEEKEND? IS HE THINKING ABOUT THE EVERYDAY JOE WHO WORKS HARD FOR HIS MONEY AND WANTS ONLY WHAT IS BEST FOR "THEIR UNIVERSITY"?

Of course not, he is only concerned with respect to Coach Fulmer and not the fans or new media to report what is really going on in the athletic department!! As John Ward said back in 1998, ITS TIME!!!

bugman,
either you don't know what you are taking about or I content that it is you that is the stupid one.

What in the wide, wide, world of sports did Briscoe have to laugh about when he had just screwed up and his team was getting beat 29 to 3 at that time. Yea, that is real funny. I would not give up to whoops in hell for a man who was getting beat and thought it was funny. I just guess Briscoe is a happy loser!!!

Is getting embarassed by Alabama and Florida last year the proof that you need that we were truly a championship caliber team? How about all the over times it took to beat, at best, an average Kentucky team or how we just slipped by the Vanderbilt's of the world last year. WE GOT LUCKY AND WERE NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER TEAM LAST YEAR!!!! or the year before that, or the year before that, or the year before that. Do you get the picture? I give credit for the hiring of Pearl, but a blind man could have made that hire and our facilities deaaling with baseball, basketball, and football were second to none before Hamilton came to Tennessee!!! Are you related to Mike Hamilton? I can't imagine why you would take up for him when he has allowed our football program to sink to new depths and you know it.

The overall athletic department at Tennessee has been in good shape for many, many years. Hamilton had very little to do with it. Also, Fulmer and our football teams, in case you have not been to any game or watched them on T.V., have been at best average for the last 8 years. The 2005 season should have been even more proof that our program was slipping to Hamilton. Two average seasons after that and now WHAT DO WE HAVE? Hamilton has had several years, with good reason, to get rid of Fulmer. Now its too late and our program will suffer for the next few years unless a change is made soon, but this is just my opinion.

Are you serious? What is the biggest athletic program at Tennessee that helps pay the bills for a few of the other non-revenue sports at Tennessee. ITS FOOTBALL!! Who has allowed our FOOTBALL program to fall to the depths that it will take many years to improve? Try Mike Hamilton. Yes, he hired Coach Pearl, but everyone new Pearl was a winner at Wisc.-Mil. before we hired him. He was an up and coming big time coach. Also, what idiot gave Fulmer a raise last year for an 8 win season? Try Mike Hamilton. Who has not already gotten rid of Fulmer even though the Vol Nation is as divided as I have even known it to be. Try Mike Hamilton!!! Hamilton needs to go when Fulmer goes. I sick and tried of this one man keeping Fulmer in his coaching position. He has the power, now use it!!

I agree with you 100%. Both Fulmer and HAMILTON have to be fired!! I consider then one and the same!
