People, people, people. In the words of Kevin Bacon in Animal House, "Remain calm, all is well." First, have a little faith in Hamilton. He made a decision that was damn near impossible to time correctly, but had to be made. Second, whether Ernie Grunfield referred him to Bruce Pearl or not, Hamilton got the job done. Let the selection process play itself out. Tennessee will get a quality head coach who has the inner drive to prove himself against the best. As alumni and fans we must keep our heads up and support the University. Go Vols.

Who in the hell writes the headlines for these articles? Before you can slump, you must be successful. The better headline would read "Rumpleslumpskin names Nick". Or "Fulmer fillibuster results in four losses". Or "Vols veto QB, opt for man named G".

When we make the (Un)coveted #5 spot in the bottom 10, it is their way of saying an otherwise good program is screwed up. Thanks for the update. And you are correct, we truly suck.

Is that Collierville, by the way? Coach Majors rubbed many people the wrong way, but he was highly successful wherever he coached and built losing programs into winners. He was run out as a fallen coach, and he was not. I do not want that to happen to Fulmer. As an alumnus, grad, fan, season ticket holder, add what you will, I am beyond upset about what Fulmer says about last season, and how we rebounded. That sounds a lot like what we as fans say.

You make a good point. However, almost 20 years later, I think that the powers behind the throne(whoever they may be) might be more interested in results and revenue than a lack of baggage.

for the enemy, your posts are usually spot on. I think that our Vol coaching staff, starting with Fulmer may be suffering from Folie a deux(the shared madness of two), or in this case, the entire coaching staff. If they ignore it long enough, it will fix itself. Where in the hell is the coaching?

On Fulmer says 'we didn't all of a sudden get stupid as coaches'

Vol23304
You are correct. Fulmer is closer to the situation that Coach Majors was in than many would believe. Majors went 4-12 versus Bama in 16 years, and the spin put on his firing was that he wasn't competitive against UT's major rival. Fulmer is 5-12 against Florida. The only difference is that there is not someone waiting in the wings to take the job from Fulmer.
