Adams is right. We'll be chasing Florida and Bama for years to come. We may beat them every now and then, but we'll be on the short end of the victories.

We'd been better off making a grad assistant the head coach. As someone here stated, hitting 7 or 8 wins a season will probably be a good mark for us in the foreseeable future.

Did Gomer Pyle or Barney Fife not want the UT coaching job? Is that how we ended up with Kiffin?

Oh well, there's always basketball!

On Kiffin is 'a perfect fit' for Vols

Man, there's a lot of delusion in the Big Orange Nation!! LK has nothing more than a grain of sand of success in the college ranks and he's going to take us to the top? Get real. This guy will most likely crash and burn and we'll be mediocre before we move on to the next coach.....or after a year or two or success, he'll jump to the NFL and we'll be flopping around in the SEC East cellar again.

History is NOT on our side regarding the expectation of success after someone like Fulmer is run off. Florida had their down time with Zook. Bama had theirs. Georgia had theirs. Now it's our turn and I'd bet the season tickets we won't see 10 wins until LK's successor.

how many games will we lose before this noob is gone? Geez, I guess beggars can't be choosers. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. This is like giving 5 stars to a West Point graduate the day after graduation.

I say if you've got a bunch of money and want to give it away, do something more useful with it than for the purpose of playing with a zipped up bag of air in a cow pasture.

Hehe.

Wonder how many on the FireFulmer bandwagon would still be on it when the guy they had in mind tells them he doesn't want the job?

I'm going to laugh if all the top candidates that everybody is dreaming over turn it down and we end up with some "beggars can't be choosers" selection that will keep us in the bottom of the SEC East for the next 6, 7 or 10 years.

I gave up at halftime and took my wife and daughters out to do some shopping that they would have normally done without me or at another time. First time I can ever remember not watching part of such a big game. Just glad I didn't waste my weekend driving from Memphis to Knoxville and back.

Ditto again to what volfan said.

Whatever the reason, it's their decision and their life. If they want to play at another school and enjoy playing the game instead of "winning" a national championship(s) by playing the last 2 minutes of a game, then I don't blame them.

If it's not fun for them to watch other people play 99% of the time and then get a ring for sitting on the bench most of the time, then they've got every right to go elsewhere. They owe nothing to Tennessee fans.
