how is jackson innocent?

That's what I'm wondering? The story as I read it was that Janzen was in the store and came out to discover what the others were doing and said we gotta go........this video doesn't show that.
ctownvol writes:
This is not how the story was reported. WOW!

I agree. I don't see it. It does look like the driver's side back door opens but no one gets out and then it closes again. WTF

Something is weird with the video...notice how the white car just appears out of thin air at 0:46 seconds in.
jigsha (staff) writes:
To condense the video, we cut out parts where no action was going on and used cross-dissolves between transitions.
That is why it appears the white car faded in.

That clears that up. Assuming the video wasn't somehow edited additionally to prevent us from seeing Jackson enter/exit the store, we were pretty much fed a bunch of BS.

Wow, just wow. And the kid played in the Chic-Fil-A Bowl. Un-freakin-believable.

It came down to this: Jackson was worth saving and the other two weren't. The fix was in. You mean the Kiffin machine sold you guys some BS about this matter? I can't believe it either!!

Who is the guy that gets in the back seat of the White car? Isn't that Janzen?
jlovevols writes:
You only see Mike Edwards & NuKeese. You never see Jackson. The fact that he didn't participate in the attempted robbery is key.

No one's story adds up. The kids that were held up said there were 3 people, two that got in their car and one that came and told them they had to go. That's not what happened. Janzen suppossedly went inside and wasn't present for the robbery. It looked to me like the guy that went inside and came back was in on the attemted robbery. The back door opening the driver side rear door has to be Janzen and he is present for the whole thing if he is in the car. Makes me wonder how dirty this whole thing actually really was.

I never see Janzen period. It looks like just two approach the vehicle. That has to be Edwards and Nuke. Something is fishy here.
BAFO writes:
Shocking that the news reports and the video are not consistent. If you watch (other) video of what Jackson and Edwards had on when they were arrested, it appears that Janzen never got out of the car - sat behind the driver. Richardson sat in the passenger seat and Edwards sat behind Richardson. All occupants "had" to know exactly what was being done. QUESTION: What was bought inside the store? Had to be something small because I didn't see anyone carrying a bag. Probably some "1.5 papers", which were in Edwards
pocket.

Frankly, the only people who believed a scenario where Jackson just happened to walk up on a robbery involving 2 of his teammates were Vols fans who wanted desperately to believe it, and keep their coveted player. Everybody else with any cognitive and reasoning skills imagined a scenario where 2 guys got out of a car that all 3 arrived in, and tried to rob somebody at gunpoint, before the 3rd guy, Jackson, told them they needed to "get the @#$% out of there". And, that appears to be precisely what happened. Once the car was pulled over a couple blocks away, and Jackson was in the car; the idea that they had just picked him up between the store and the pull-over location, or that they had just picked him up at the store that he had walked to was so absurd, it's hard to imagine anybody really believed that. In any event, that vid clearly shows that none of what was reported was accurate; and that a kid with knowledge of an armed robbery chose to remain in the car and leave with the perpetrators, making him an accessory after the fact. The DA and school gave him a break that allowed a would-be felon to remain on the team. It's that simple... he was given preferential treatment that is only available to star athletes. No average student or regular citizen would have gotten away with that. A regular student would have been expelled, and an average citizen would have faced charges. This is pretty much what everyone not involved with UT believed all along.

At about 2:52, the rear driver's side door opens. No one gets in or out of the car, but a person appears at the corner of the building at 2:57 (a lookout or bystander??). If JJ is not in the car during the attempted robbery, then there must be a fourth person involved as someone opened that door. If JJ is in the car, then he was lying and should have faced more scrutiny from the police and the University. Hopefully, all the talk from Dooley about integrity will rub off on the rest of the University community.
