The skinny: With DeAnthony Arnett’s abrupt transfer to Michigan State, UT is once again in the market for a third receiver that can exploit opponents in the slot. Howard, based on what recruiting services think about him, would be the best possible option out of this freshman class to contribute immediately. Though he hoped to enroll early, Howard will still have plenty of chances to impress his new coaches. He’s already been told that there are plans to move him all over the field, sometimes lining up in the backfield and also getting a chance to return kicks. Looking for speed? Howard’s got it. He clocked a 4.4 second 40-yard dash as recently as last month.
