The skinny: Gray was so excited by an offer to an SEC program like UT, he committed before stepping on campus. That came as a surprise to UT’s coaches and so did a January visit to West Virginia. That’s where the drama stopped, though, as Gray reaffirmed his commitment to a program he visited for the first time one month earlier. Though he’s one of the lighter recruits UT is signing, Gray considers himself to be a physical player, able to disrupt routes at the line of scrimmage. He attended the same high school as former Vol defensive end Gerald Williams.
