Coach Bruce Pearl dismissed Tyler Smith, one of his scholarship players, last week and the status of three more still hang in the balance after being arrested for drug and weapon charges on New Year's day. However, Skylar McBee, freshman walk-on for the Vols, stressed to media on Monday (Jan. 11, 2010) that they are still considered part of the UT basketball family. Pearl said the positive coverage following the win against top-ranked Kansas was "gratifying" following the arrests.
