On Friday morning, school officials cut the ribbon at the new Knox County STEM Academy, officially opening the district's 15th high school. The school, which will focus on the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, is the first of its kind and part of a push for more empahsis on STEM education locally and in the state.
